No but seriously, the cultures are different and the visibility is different. Japanese don't flock together; they're non-existent or invisible on a college campus, for example. Koreans are very very tight-knit and have more of a machismo thing and are quite visible and loud on a college campus. Chinese take affront to that.
i know the difference between the races. i lived in japan for 17 years before moving to the US at 21 (i am half japanese). and yes japanese ppl also flock together, just like korea and china.

also i take it, you never been to japan, because they have ppl who are loud and obnixous. .

also i have been to korea in fact seoul korea, they acted like japanese ppl to me. also been to hongkong, they acted like ppl from toyko (very snobbish). but does that mean all of chinese ppl are snobbish? okinawa ppl do not care for the mainland japan. because of their attitudes , but does that mean japan as a whole has a attitude problem?

hey look, i am not defending korea, in fact i am not even korean. but to give me a reason, such as Korea ppl are loud etc is very dumb to me. japanese ppl think american ppl act loud and macho. does that mean america as a whole act that way? so i just think the reasoning of not liking a certain race is stupid. but hey that is just me. Old generation koreans hate japanse ppl, and i dont blame them. old school okinawans 9uch as my grandfather and grandmohter) hate japan and i dotn blame them. japan treated the ppl around them like crap in the past.

back to the topic, i think hyndai is doing well. and i hope they give japanese car companies more heat. like samsung is doing to sony

I am talking only about US college campuses. Japanese are invisible on US college campuses. Chinese are all over but they tend to do their own thing. Koreans are especially tightknit and do everything together. Comprende?

I am trying to explain how the different asians might feel about each other, specifically how US chinese might feel about koreans and how they get those perceptions. Just to give you a counterpoint, US chinese and asian teens don't really have anything against Japanese, at least not from behavior on campuses or growing up in the US, because once again Japanese are very inconspicuous here in the US. So perception of Japanese are mostly historically based, e.g., WWII and/or invasions into China over the centuries or treating Koreans living in Japan as second-class citizens, all of which are histories that are not really palpable to chinese/korean/other asians growing up in the US. Some older chinese and koreans will refuse to buy Japanese cars. I have never met a young asian american who refused to buy a Japanese car.

But is Nygps racially biased against Koreans? Of course he is, that much is clear.

all of you die ! Muhahahahahaha !

I don't really hate Koreans or Japanese or whatever.

As for alfy28's comment. Well I dont really "mind" that, cuz whenever war happens, the losing side always gets slaughter. We all know about history so I dont think I need to give any examples.

Just look at how Iraqi people die in Iraq now.(Before anybody wanna ban me, please check world wide news about how many civilians die in Iraq, you can blame the terrorist, but there were much less death in Iraq before the invasion happens. notice the word "invasion")

Funny thing was no matter how ppl "evil-lize" the communism, it was the communist who actually fought back and won for China. What I didn't like is that some japanese people today still deny that japan was the one who invade china back then. Find the missing solider my ***. Its just an excuse to start a war.

Ahh just gonna stop talking about these history/current stuff.

I like that Bi-bim-bop, Yok-Gae-Jun(is that how to spell it, the hot spicy beef soup thing with rice?), and I like Buta Kimchee and Sushi :P, I also like Indian Curry + bread and their rice. I also like Italian, French ... Ahh :P

Oh yes I drive a Japanese car, not because its japanese made. Its special, one of the kind, rev smoothly ...

ANYWAY, Screw that Hyundai ! I know they're trying to improve their brand image but until then ... if its 15K I might buy it.

thanks . i know what you are saying. i went to a american school in 11th grade on base in okinawa. at taht school flippino/americans school gangs acted the way you described. so much that , they only talked to their kind only. they use to cause trouble etc. but if you get to know them, there where actually pretty cool ppl.

but to be quite honest, i really dont care talk aboout this subject. because its so highschool to me. i am 33 and way over that kid stage. which is probably why i am not understanding. only i know is, if i am cool to some one regardless of their race and who they asscoiate with, they most likely are going to be cool back.

You're not biased against any other race? That's almost impossible. Case in point, You're hooked on kimchee just like I was. But have you ever had a Korean friend and spent time at his house? When I was in junior high and high school, my best friend was Korean and I'd go to his house all the time. Anyone who spends time in a Korean house knows that familiar odor that comes from a ton of giant kimchee jars fermenting that red chili stuff in the garage. The entire house permeates with that smell. Well, one day a bunch of our friends all went to his house, many of them for the first time, and they were all "WTF is that smell?!!!" After that incident, everyone called him "squiddy." Poor guy had to endure that for 4 years of high school. Those guys mistakenly thought the smell was from squid juice! LOL.

:o

I might sound like Im "against" Koreans, but trust me Im not. Like I said I have Korean friends and from time to time we hang out together

Like alfy28 said. If Im cool to them, they will cool to me. If they're not cool to me, no biggy, I can always make new friends. right ?

I got a Japanese car simply because - they're better. If BMW/Mercedes/VW has better style and fix their reliablitiy issue (especially Mercedes, anything after 1995 breaks down @ 5 years then every year after that, awful), I might consider getting it. American made cars? No Thanks. they're even worst ! This Rx-8 that I got hmm ... I would say they're ok. definitely not the best. I have a Honda FIT, and I abuse the crap outa it and it still works like the day I got it out of the dealership. Thats what I call quality.

Korean made cars. When it first came out they were horrible (dont say its not), Are they improving? Yes they're. A LOT ! and In my book they're actually better than American made cars. but Still not good enough. I'm waiting

lol, yes i have been in a korean house before. and i guess his house is different from your friends house. just like i have some japanese friends who house smelled of fish. not all of their house smell that way.

but to answer you race bias question. . i feel that i am very open minded , that i am not biased to a certain race. my thinking is, if a person is nice to me, then ill be nice back. I feel that a person actions is not race specific. every race has their arsholes and nice ppl. so i feel that i can honestly say that i am not.

and my reasons is, growing up half american and half japanese in a japanese school is not easy (elementary). so i always told my self that i would never treat a person who looks different from me due to their race, like how these kids treated me on a daily basis. . Junior high and up is a different story i had lots of friends.

if all ppl would put aside their dislikes of a different race, they might just find a new friend. but like i said, pretty much tired of this subject.

and thats what my Korean friends told me. Girls there are dying to get plastic surgery. Thats also why Korea (South I mean) has probably the best plastic surgery doctors in the world (Is that a good thing? I dunno. I believe in natural )

things could get better now ... who knows

yes, but you have to head to a korean resturant, hold up a sign that say '' I like Koreans" and have someone take a picture of you doing that

Wow thank you. You just saved me a lot of keystrokes. Yeah I think its time for people, no matter what race you are, to get over the preconceived notions about other races (aka stereotypes), seriously, it never worked before and it'll never work now. By the way didnt mean to hi jack this thread.

It's actually kinda true. For many girls in South Korea, their sweet sixteenth bday gift is getting plastic surgery. A favorite is getting the upper eyelid crease.

They aren't ugly per say just unhappy with their own appearance when in many cases it's unnecessary.
