Infiniti fx35
My father and i are looking for new suvs and i think we decided on the fx35. I searched the site for people's thoughts on the car and didnt see enough. What are your thoughts/concerns with this car? Do you think any suvs are better then this one keeping in mind the price?

The FX series seems like a great SUV. It is pretty fast and supposedly has car like handling. If you in the market for a sporty SUV than the FX seems like a good choice.
The FX35 may not have the V8 of the 45, but it is nearly as fast for a lot less. If you lay off some of the pricey options than it is a pretty decent deal.

Thanks for your replies... We decided to lease it and pick it up on monday. The only downfall to that car is the navigation voice. We decided to get the technology package and sport package that consists of the rear view monitor, navigation, etc . Dont worry i'll post pictures of it next to my baby.

The FX is build off of the G35 chassis also with the same engine, which is why it handles like a sedan. Most SUVs out there are built off of either a truck or minivan chassis therefore handles like one.
The only problem with the FX is the space, it is consider more a cross over vehicle than a SUV.
Then there is the exhaust note, it will put a smile on your face, it sounds just like the FX35 coupe (idles like a Ferrari).

Yeah when my father test drove the fx35, I had a smile on my face hearing the exhaust tone. The salesman told me it had 52/48 weight distribution. Is this true?

The FX35 is a WONDERFUL vehicle! You'll be very happy with it. I see you're getting the technology package, it's a lot of fun!
It does handle somewhat like a sporty coupe (though of course the center of gravity is higher). I've seen one review of it that referred to the FX35 as a "sports car with a backpack" -- that's an excellent description! I'm not sure about the weight distribution.
The only negative we've experienced with it is that despite AWD, it does not do well at all in the snow with the high performance summer tires that came with it. We may get some snow tires/wheels for it next winter.

My uncle has one, he let me drive it... its safe and handles like a charm. It doesn't eat up alot of gas. It has performance, safety, its alot of fun to drive. If that doesn't have enough space in the back consider the Acura MDX... as just as sweet.

I had an FX35 as a rental car for a week. My wife and I were sold on it. We were planning on getting an BMW X5, but the FX35 came with more features and just over all drove better. And for the money we were going to spend on an X5 3.0, we could actually afford the FX45 (mmmmmmmmm 315 hp V8
)

Please don't get the FX in red. That red is disgusting and may possibly be the worst red on the market.
I think the FX looks pretty good overall, but did you ever notice how from the back, it looks like the bonnet is just a little too narrow (like its head is too small)? I wish they would have extended the edges (where they hit the door line at the shoulders) just a tad.

Personally I would never get an SUV for a job you can do with an AWD sedan or wagon. The G35 now has an AWD trim, I think - if I was shopping for a luxury set of wheels, I'd get that instead.
That said, I think the FX is the best looking SUV on the road, no question.

If I were so inclined to buy a SUV, the FX would be my 1st choice, just like the 8 was my 1st out of many cars I could have bought for same price, a little higher, or a little lower.
I also like the Cayenne.

That's exactly (but not the only reason) why my 1st choice would be a FX. And I actually like the way it looks better than the Cayenne. I really just consider most SUV's glamorized trucks.
I can't take the Cayenne seriously either, that's beyond my budget. However I like the commercial where you get to hear how it sounds.

There's another reason I don't like the Cayenne. The company I work for is relatively small, but had really good profits when I started two years ago. Our profit per quarter has been dropping a bit at a time. We're a long ways from collapse, but my stock options went from "Holy f**k, I might get $10,000 out of these after taxes!" to "Hey, if I cash them in now, I might be able to get two candy bars with my coffee."
So the CEO has been giving all of his speeches about how we need to cut costs and find ways to improve. Meanwhile, the company car is a Cayenne Turbo. Naturally, only the CEO drives it. He's asking me how we can cut costs when he gets use of a $90,000 car the company pays for? Makes me want to smack him around... and really makes me dislike the Cayenne.
It's all relative, I guess. The CEO only makes about $750,000 a year. That's more than 15 times my salary, and way more than anyone could possibly deserve, but not nearly as bad as CEOs from some other companies.
