some you guys are complete idiots...seriously, you drive a F***ing MAZDA RX-8 not a bently(now you can talk about interiors) or ferrari (handling anyone?)

single minded or what???

! if you ever NOTICED or realised the EVO is a rally car... umm lets see rally cars are race cars that dont GIVE 2 ***** about the interior and are worried about ACCELERATION, CORNERING etc... not made to treat its driver with creme de la creme luxury!?

guess what you single-minded peeps:

we drive an underpowered sports car that gets beat by ugly econobox neons that cost half the price of our cars, has gas mileage worse than a viper, and interior quality INFERIOR to a honda!

ill agree on one thng before you handling gurus get on my case, the rx-8s only saviour!

i like my car for what it is, and admit that every other car in its class is far superior in reality and practicality... i dont **** talk about cars that are lower than mine or superior to mine..

whats with some of us who are comparing the rx-8 (a sports car in the $40K CAD) to a $15K civic?????????? seriously..

get off your high horses people.. you dont drive the greatest car in the world...the EVO is a rally car.
the rx-8 is a sports car and sedan in one simple... that remarkably can handle like a sports car...if it wasnt for that the 8 has absolutely nothing going for it.. while the EVO HAS EVERYTHING!!! (and the styling is controversial on both cars so dont bother going there)

You seem to have this place confused with an evo site...

What makes you think the RX-8 is so "respectable"? Because soccer moms drive it too? Because they have a watered down automatic version for non-enthusiasts to drive. RX-8s and Evos are both Japanese imports. What makes either more "respectable" than the other?

If you want something respectable, you should have bought German (Audi, BMW, Porsche, Merc) not JDM...

I never said the Rx-8 was an acceptable "respectable" car, just that the Evo wasn't. And I drive an automatic as an enthusiast.

Sure do...your welcome.

My mother is a part time real estated agent. I know plenty of business people. And I know people in general.

I still cannot envision a scenario where a prospect of mine would walk away from a deal because of the car I drive. Rather on 3 or 4 occasions it's been the opposite.

therm8...please give me an example where you think it could bite you in the *** from a business perspective. I'm asking in all seriousness because maybe there is a scenario I've just been lucky enough to not run into yet.

I'm sorry but I'm revoking your enthusiast card since you own an AT RX-8.

The days of busisness and sales people needing large luxury cars is long gone. My father owns a real estate company, he still feels the need to buy larger cars but he knows he doesn't have to. It's once in a blue moon that he actually has to drive someone around, people prefer to take their own car nowadays. I've driven winemakers and various wine people around in my WRX. One of them always jokes with me about wanting to take the racecar rather than his rental. Some of the Europeans love it as well and we always end up talking about the WRC. The other thing I get a lot is how people can't believe it's a 4 cylinder. I've never once had any type of adverse reaction.

I'm not saying the WRX/Evo/STI will suit everyones needs when it comes to the businessworld, but they will fit a lot, especially in todays world. I don't see the RX-8 being any better choice either.

I agree. I have a friend who drives a modified EVO VIII as a daily driver and also track car. His car is modded with an aggressive looking (yet functional) Carbon Fiber front lip spoiler. He's also putting out about 100 extra hp in power mods...

As a job he works as a medical doctor and parks in a special parking lot at work with all of the other doctors and their mercs and bimmers. He doesn't care one bit about being seen in the EVO. If you are confident in yourself then you don't care what other people think about your car.

And his EVO can hit 142 mph on the straights at Road America and he passes Vettes and Vipers and that is even with my fat *** in the car. My RX-8 only hits about 123 mph on those same straights. I also rode a couple of hundred miles with him to and from the track and over the country roads in Kettle Moraine and didn't find the ride very uncomfortable from the passenger seat.

EVO (and STis) are great cars and great bang for the buck.
