It's pretty simple; I dont get all worked up over being fastest in a straightline or driving around in tomblike silence, so this thing does nothing to interest me. When they can create a REAL sports sedan (i.e., something with road feel, something not softly-sprung, something that doesnt look like a vaguely disguised toyota) maybe then I'll show some interest. But since they havent created one in 16 years, I doubt they will anytime soon.

And playdoh... I agree. It's smarter for them to appeal to the larger masses, who care more about comfort and straightline performance. Though the one thing I'm surprised and disappointed by is them not allowing you to turn off the VSC.

Just let it go, it's really not that deep. I don't think it's special so it's not at all hard for me to call it that. My opinion is the only one that counts to me and shouldn't matter at all to you.

IMO its definetly a real sports sedan though, bonafide.

Catch the $35k sedan compro on C&D I think it was? While the Lexus was ranked one place higher, these guys would rather have a G35. The best bang for the buck. It only lost because the design is getting older.
I read their opinions as...
BMW runs like a BMW. Awesome car. Too damn expensive for a 3 series.
Lexus IS. Better than before, and drives more sporty than any other Lexus... but it ain't no BMW. Hell, it ain't no G35 either.
Infiniti G35. Roomy, fast and handles well. Pricing can't be beat for this package. Design is getting a little old is this car's only negative.

R 112.86
Stock RX8 Automatic
F 144.21
R 101.46
Mazdaspeed Spring
F 280
R 190.4
Oem springs G35 coupes with oem 17’s & 18’s G35 sedan’s with sport suspension 350Z’s 2003/2004
F 314
R 342
Oem springs G35 coupes 2005 only with oem 19’s only 350Z 2004.5/2005
F 314
R 427
i dont have data on the IS350's spring rates, but they are definetly stiffer than the IS300.
which is
F 270
R 210
as you can see the softest spring rates belong to the 8, thats not to say that the rx8 is subject to more body roll because of factors such as height and weight amongst many other things. I know for sure though that the G coupe, Z, S2000 and bmw 330 all have comparatively less bodyroll than the rx8. if you ever watch the Rotory Reborn episode of BMI, the professional drivers confirms this, as well as motortrend and road's s2000 vs 350z vs rx8 article. RX8 is amongst the softest sprung performance cars. Keep in mind im speaking in relative terms, RX8 is by no means a soft sprung car overall, its just softer compared to the competition, at the same time making it much better daily driver than the s2000 and 350Z the same way the STI is a better daily driver than the EVO. Ive driven the IS350 and the RX8 and i felt like both cars experience about the same amount of bodyroll.
Also note that bodyroll is not the only factor that influence handling. RX8 by far handles better than the IS350 over all, weight and steering response, tire among other things also plays a big part in influencing handling, body roll is only part of the equation. RX8 IMO is one of the best handling cars out there, probably only behind the Evo, S2000 and Elise for cars under $50k. just dont expect the rx8 to be board flat while the IS350 bobs around on the same curves when you actually do get the chance to drive one. This IS is not your average lexus, its by no means a dog in handling. It just have some problems making a good connection with the driver's input.

I think you're an ***- but hey, wait- "my opinion is the only one that counts to me and shouldn't matter at all to you"
i have no beef with your opinion, its just that you write it as fact and that you're God's gift to forums and BMW.
