Serious weed indeed. How many of these do they expect to sell??? Yea its pretty hot but $375K!!?? Who in their right mind would buy this over the plethera of exotics that could be had for that price (or much less even)?

I could understand $90k-$120K, but not 375, yeesh.

For a split second, I thought it was a GTR.

I'm guessing they expect to sell all 500. As for the plethera of exotics... This is going to be a fairly rare car if they really only make 500. There's definitely a uniqueness to it and the people who can afford cars in that range will probably be fine with paying that price tag.

^yup, i agree. it's outrageously expensive, but it'll sell no problem. it's argueably better looking than anything save maybe a ferrari. but it'll be more exotic. and the interior is AMAZING!

true, but i guess when i look at cars, i dont see who makes them. i like them because how they drive and look. so if i was rich and was able to afford a LFA, i would buy it. because i am not buying it for hte name, buying it on how awesome it drives

When you guys take a first glance at the Lexus LF-A , what kind of price tag comes to mind? Curious?

I honestly love the look, love the F1 sounding motor , but every time I see this car , I think of this car being in the price range of 60k-95k tops. Even at a limited run of 500, $ 375k still seems way over priced.

Even the mighty ZR-1 is a cool 120k bucks and it can out run and out handle about 90% cars on the planet!

yeah and the zr1 is pure beast you can have a r8 v10 and a bunch of other stuff and honestly even if you take off the lexus badge when i look at this car i see 100k TOPS and thats pushing it ... IMO

to be honest, about a million dollars.

but jokes aside, i do see it at the same price as GTR etc. but then again, the car comes with a V10 along with the flashy cockpit ma jiggies.

personally i feel they are only making 500 of these for top payers, and making a V8 version for ppl who will shell out for ZR1 , GTR etc.

Also aston DBS goes for 275k and the looks are about as equal to this lexus. not trying to defend lexus, but must be something in the car, taht justify the price tag

$375K and still taking a loss is the definition of facepalm in my opinion. I agree with GTR or ZR1 pricing but Ferrari 458 or Lamborghini Gallardo pricing is going to be too high unless it comes with:

1) a playboy playmate of the year
2) 10yr/100K mile bumper to bumper warranty
3) a trunk monkey
4) your own mechanic that lives in your garage
5) gets 100mpg
6) shoots cash out the tailpipe instead of CO2

DBS all the way, but the LFA is a beautiful car in a supra restored kind of way. just way too much (and toyota even said they are taking a hit on each car!)

Before the MSRP was announced, I thought the car would be in the $120-$130K price range. Never would I have believed or thought that Lexus wanted to sell this thing for close to $400K.

For that kind of money, I have a long list of other cars that I'd rather look at than this LF-A, including cars with lower price tags (like the Aston Martin DBS, Porsche 911 GT2, MB SL65 AMG, Gallardo LP 560-4, Ferrari F430, etc.).

If I already had an MB SLR, a Porsche Carrera GT, and probably a Ferrari Enzo (for **** and giggles) in my imaginary garage, I'd have no problem plunking down close to $400K for a Lexus LF-A. But if I only had enough money for one exotic car, I'd make damn sure it's got an exotic name and emblems on the car. To me, the name "Lexus" is not exotic enough. It's kind of like whether you want a $7K Spring Drive Seiko watch or a $7K brand-name Swiss watch (Rolex, IWC, JLC, Panerai, etc.).

If you got a $7K Seiko watch, you'd have to explain to other people why the hell it costs so much for a Seiko. Similarly, if you got a $400K Lexus LF-A, you'd probably need to explain why the hell a Lexus costs that much. Otherwise, people will think that you're nuts.

But then some people may go, "Screw 'em all....I don't need to explain anything to anyone..." I ain't one of 'em, though.

And oh, what's up with the humongous mirrors on Lexus cars nowadays? Fugly.

Honestly that DBs is too much for it's hansome styling as well. 200k ok, 279k your in lambo territory. Anything north of the 250k price tag the car better look like it can fly and look one of a kind. That's what makes a lamborghini a lamborghini. It has the look to back up it's high price tag.

I would soooo much rather have this over any Lame-borghini, the Technology directly induced from F1 and if anyone has seen the videos in the other three threads you would understand that this car is truely a unique beast,,, The only car Ive ever heard that directly sounds like an F1 car,,,, I would suspect that the engine alone cost around $200K,,,

Let me see... I think I would pay about 120k for this car. 375k hell NOOOOOO! But what we seem to forget is that the people who are going to buy this car. It wont affect or change there lifestyle when they buy it. They wil drop 375k cash and its a drop in the bucket. So they wont say "I have a Lexus" they will say "Hey I added that Lexus supercar to my collection 1 of 500 ever made" lol.
