I have bought 2 new cars using a fleet purchase method. The first vehicle I faxed bid requests myself and it took a total of about 8 hours to do all the work. For the RX-8 I used a paid service which accepted bids from dealers. I got a great price with little work and no hassle with salesman.
The service I used looks to be gone, but I find find another one http://www.autocastle.com/
I have never used them but their service is just like the one I used.

Pretty much the same here. Half the time I see one it seems like it is a dealer loaner vehicle.
One thing I find interesting though is that the rear taillights are often completely silver with no red. I thought by law the red was required and be visible.
I have my tailights tinted and had my dealer comment that it would not pass inspection. (my local shop passed me though)

That is a great SUV is you don't care at all about driving. The driving dynamics of the Mazda CX-9 are far superior and you get a 3rd row.
Costco has a great purchasing program if you are too scared to negotiate yourself.
Use KBB and Edmunds to find invoice prices.

the new gmc is better for that, believe it or not.
Envoy
MSRP $30,415
Engine 4.2L 291 hp L6 (optional danali 5.3L 300hp v8 brings msrp to 36K)
HP 291 @ 6000 RPM
TQ 277 @ 4800 RPM (330 @4k RPM with v8)
RX350 Base Sport Utility
$37,400
3.5L 270 hp L6
270 @ 6200 RPM
251 @ 4700 RPM
I dunno, maybe your trunk won't open by itself in the envoy.
of course, the cx-9 Grand Touring AWD is NOT the best by these standards.
$33,875
3.5L 263 hp L6
263 @ 6250 RPM
249 @ 4500 RPM
still, having driven all of these along with an X5( and 3) as well as the VW tourig and the Porsche Cayenne, I'd say the GMC feels the most like a man's truck, the lexus, tourig and cayenne all feel like bitch cars while the mazda and the x5 drive the best. the mazda clearly was the most fun(nest) and the x5 was surely the most excellent (despite it's surprisingly cramped cabin and crappy nav).
SO it goes ime:
1. X5
2. CX9 AWD
3. GMC Envoy
4. VW Tourig (it's manlier than the cayenne)
5. cayenne
6. RX350

Well, since 99% of people buying "SUV's" use them as crossovers, I'd say a crossover is a pretty smart buy. Why sacrifice road manners for other, more HARDCORE, attributes you'll never exploit?
