LMP2 Mazda Update?

The BK chassis is a C65 with a C60 rear which needed to be used to mount the rotary engine. The rotary is heavier than many of the other race engines out there. The extra weight isn't just from the chassis although that has some part of it. Their cooling problems have been more with the water pump than anything else. They finally worked that out by designing a new one as the old one would cavitate at high rpm's. The chassis does have some things that could be fixed in terms of cooling ability but it wasn't the main problem. They need an engine program more than anything. If Pescarolo can will with a C60 and a competitive motor, the problems can't all be blamed on the chassis.
First
Courage C60 = LMP1 (LMP900) Chassis
Courage C65 = LMP2 (LMP600) Chassis
Ok , now on the Pescarolo C60 Hybrid...
The Pescarolo badged cars are in fact Courage C60s. But bascially Henri Pescarolo developed them enough on his own to infact rebadge them as his own.
"Disapointed with the pace of the C60, Pescarolo hired Andre de Cortanze to revise his C60s. De Cortanze had previously designed the much acclaimed, but ill-fated Toyota TS020 GT1 racer. In an attempt to exploit the regulations to the maximum, De Cortanze designed new 'wing endplates', which doubled as wing mounts. The wing mounted endplates were limited in size by the rules, however this was overcome by mounting the endplates on the body. The only setback was that the wing could not be full width, as the rules also indicated that the wing mounts could only be 165 cm apart."
Pescarolo's modifications were strictly to bodywork and mechanical, structurally they have not been touched much.

from the start of the program many team members complaing about the chassis performance, the las time I saw a courage it was not much faster in racing conditions, about 2 seconds if memory serve right, and that was a complete C65, so I would expec at least a 2 second improvement wiht a new chassis.

Well, I'm off to Laguna early tomorrow am. Not sure what I'll see but will try to get pix and pass them along. Lets hope "Monumental" has to do with adding another rotating "thing." That would be the icing on what I anticipate will be a fun 3 days.

Haha I'll still watch it now that speed is broadcasting this live. I just want to listen to the high pitch 3-rotor scream! I hope they finish the race this time.
6secs is a little less than petite lemans right?

News update from Mulsanne's corner about ACO regulations for 2007
"The only other prototype adjustments to note are a 5% restrictor size reduction for LMP2, thus reigning in the performance of the LMP2s relative to LMP1. With this the ACO is aiming at a 1.5% lap time difference and noted that if hasn't been achieved, then further adjustments will be made at the end of the year."
Even tho its 5% for all the LMP2, but the reduction would probably hurt the rotary more than pistons.

They run the same lap time as all the GT1 cars..... I think the Courage should put some yellow headlights on. ![Sad](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/sad.gif)

If it wasn't for a earlier accident to the P2 Lola B05/40 AER Intersport Racing team car, BK would've been running around in 7th (last) in P2...
The Intersport team will be doing the race though.
