It was a rotary outlasting the competition type of victory. The Kudzu won it's class because it was the only car in it's class to finish the race. They placed 25th overall. There were only 25 cars that finished the race so they were the last place car that actually was still running. All of those cars that were behind them DNF'd.

Not much info available on that car but here is a picture of it.

its a beutifull car, specially in the 787b colors

if the lola is going to be out soon , why fix this car? are they going to run the two cars?

No way the 3-rotor would keep up with the other cars unless it is FI-ed, the HPs on those GT2 cars arent low, I believe its higher than the current LMP2 Mazda, its just that the prototypes are lighter.

Here's the results from the 1996 Le mans, with a pic of the car at the track:

http://www.racingsportscars.com/phot...-16-photo.html

As for the tube frame chassis Rx-8, it wouldn't be allowed in either GT category, nor would the 3 rotor, as it is no longer in production. They could run a FI renisis because the Rx-8 would be classified as a GT2s. I don't think that would be enough though to make it competive though. According the the Road & Track I have, the Peterson/White Lightning Porsche 911 GT3 RSR is putting out 455 bhp.

thanks for the link, as to the # the porches are putting out it is posible to have a good long lasting FI rotary with 400 rwhp ( belive it or not) the only limiting factor is $$$$$$.

remember that not long ago there where a couple of turbo rx-7 runing endurance races and doing ok, I would love to see a pair of FI RX-8 in gt2

Yeah that's true. I'd love to see the Rx-8 running up there with Porsches, Ferraris, Panozs, and BMWs.

And it just so happens that Dennis Sepencer just bought the Miracle motorsports ALMS team. Wonder where those 4 rotors are gonna go now?

I agree, my hope is that with Acura & Porsche's strong commitment, Mazda will step up and make a full factory effort to go toe to toe with the big guns. I get the feeling that I'm going to be dissapointed though...

Maybe enough for the rest of this season ... maybe. But I've seen all the parts, there's not much there.

It is equally possible, that with the increased level of competition, that they will just pull out. Rather than spend more money on that racing series.

If Dennis Spencer is entering the game, I have nothing but confidence in the team. They should know how to race a rotary. He owns almost all of the big rotary race cars.

any way we shoulg be happy that theres going to be another rotary in the ALMS, and wish them good luck! im sure they will make a firts rate effort lets hope they are in for the rest of the year
