No pics, but it's nice to know it fired up and is now on its way to Sebring!
I could not see it

Thanks for all of the support from the Mexico race.
Thanks for clarifying David. It really helps to get the 411 from "The" source. Saves us pages of speculation.

I think it will be a sin if I don't see you guys run in person. Good luck in getting the cars ready for Homestead!

I'll see the new ALMS car next month but unfortunately will have to be content with only seeing the Speedsource guys at Sevenstock. I'm finally over the lack of rotary shock in ALMS by the way so now I'm getting more behind Mazda's effort with the new car. Let's hope it lives up to the hype!

I'm really looking forward to going to Houston next month. Might be one of the few times I've actually been excited about going to Houston. :D

hot news for new lola:

http://www.americanlemans.com/News/Article.aspx?ID=2848

The new Mazda-powered Lola for B-K Motorsports is on its way to Sebring following a Sunday shakedown at Snetterton in the eastern UK. The Wisconsin-based LMP2 team completed 26 laps in soggy conditions before the car was packed up and shipped to the U.S. for next week's Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, the opening race for the American Le Mans Series.

B-K Motorsports is entering its third season of Series competition, all coming in P2. Following its debut at Road Atlanta in 2005, the team won its first race in LMP2 at Mid-Ohio. Jamie Bach and Ben Devlin will pilot the Lola-Mazda for the full 12-race championship and will be joined by Rafael Matos at Sebring and Petit Le Mans.

The car will be on Kumho tires and utilize the new Mazda MZR-R four cylinder turbo engine.

The 2007 American Le Mans Series opens with the 55th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring on March 17 at Sebring International Raceway. The green flag will fall shortly after 10 a.m. with SPEED providing live coverage. The race also will be broadcast by American Le Mans Radio with IMSA Live Timing & Scoring available at americanlemans.com.

I cant wait to see it painted, it should look pretty good with the white and blue.

It utilizes a different brake duct location compared to the Acura 07'Lola, which should be exposed to less debris since its smaller.

Also the engine intake is on the left side of the mazda

This might be a triple-post, in which case I apologize for being obnoxious, but the Acura will also have the revised aero package this year...

It's going to be awesome seeing the exhaust manifold glowing red as the car goes by like Intersport's Lola last year!

Props to John on the pics, not only is he Mr. Mazda Motorsports, but a budding photo journalist! :D

After SS's success at Mexico I had a major relapse of disappointment about ALMS.

hahaha.. they could've gotten a lot more hp outta those rotors eh, too bad it was fat and slow, and hot.

but i think the fun in ALMS is in the LMP1 class now, yes i know, there r only a few cars there, but i'd LOVE to see the intersport team rape the audis. and LMP2 will be interesting as well, with many different chassis and engine combos. lola, courage, porsche, V8s, turbo 4.

I like the Audi's. Diesel all the way! That's where the most power really is anyways. With all of the rule changes that keep being implemented against diesels as a result of them royally raping their counterparts, you may get your wish.

I don't prefer the Audis too much but respect what they've accomplished. I just can't get into a car that quiet on a race track. We may as well have electric cars out there...and if it ever comes to that my days at the track will be over.

Audi has apparently improved the R10. Here's the new car. Visually it is nearly the same with some small changes but underneath they have done some work.

Finally got to watch the Acura Project LMP documentary. Impressions....If Acura feels a little behind the curve in terms of preparation for Sebring and the ALMS season, how would you describe the Mazda/BK/AER et al. program at this stage??
That 3.4 L V8 the Acuras will run looks pretty impressive. Not to mention their testing facility, and all the SUPPORT those three teams are getting.
Man I hope this isn't an embarassing weekend!! A finish would be awesome!!

we got BOOST tho... hahahaha.....

seriously... i doubt they'd finish a 12 hr race in their debut, we arent audi and acura, theres just not enough testing done. again its rushed, why do they have to rush things everytime?!?! the 3-rotor project was put together week(s) before sebring 2 years ago!
