Just read a rumor at MurphyTheBear.com predicting 2 Mazolas next year in ALMS. Any of you insiders heard any rumors? Would this be a second BK car or is somebody else interested in running it?

Disclaimer for those that don't bother with the website: the writer states early and often he is only passing along rumors, though many do find their way into being...

I don't see any reasons to field a Mazda-Lola unless it is significantly cheaper... well its possible, but I would go to acura instead.

Is BK even capable of fielding two LMP2 cars?

Personally, I am not looking forward to the next ALMS season, the LMP1 and GT1 is almost non-existent. Porsche will dominate, and with even more spyders, (no Acura does not have a chance even with very strong financial backing), (Penske) Porsche will just come out stronger.

Mazda wants to sell the AER-Lola package to privateers, but this is no Speedsoure RX-8 package (cheap and competitive)! They're lucky if they can sell 1.

Found on one of my favorite websites some old news that might not have been posted here.

"Who was that seen in Zytek's garage over the Le Mans weekend? None other than Honda's head engine guy. The understanding is that the Honda will be fielding an LMP1 effort propelled by Zytek's hybrid electric drive coupled with their new LMP1 power plant. When will this see the light of day? Next year seems way too soon, more likely 2009. Though it could very well be fast-tracked with the looming regulations change."

Found at http://www.mulsannescorner.com/news.html

Interesting to see anybody even considering going in to Lmp1 but cool regardless.

I heard some interesting information at SSX on the real story behind the BK team, their problems, the discontinuation of the rotary, and who was really at fault. I'm going to wait until it is on that person's website next month before I pass the story on but needless to say it's not what we thought or what the magazines passed on.

I think what RG said is right we should wait till that person makes it public, but I will repeat what many have said in this threat, the real history is that the rotary would have being a more cost effectife solution, we would have a much more succesfull 2007 seasson (the AER car have only finish 2 races) and we would have a car running with the SOUL OF MAZDA for power plant not a rebaged AER engine

Definitely in agreement there, Mazda should have just stayed focused on the current package and committed to it earlier it should have been competitive. Even this season it seems was a hurried effort.

And look what we have today, a huge investment, a lot of DNFs and very little chance of wining a race

On "another side of the story", I meant on what was out there and you had heard and read previous to this SS.. now you guys heard what might be closer to the real story... wait, now I'm confused... ha ha ha!!

RG, "I know nothing... nothing I tell you", I don't even know who you are!
