Looking for new SUV, any ideas?
Im looking into buying a full size SUV (Escalade, Suburban, etc). I am not up to date with many new car line-ups, and was wondering if anybody had any good ideas. I know, I know I am also searching myself, but was hoping that some forum members would have some good ideas. Im need something that will tow roughly 6,000 lbs or so. I tow a 27foot aft cabin cruiser boat, and a motorcycle trailer with three bikes. Hoping to stay under $70,000 including taxes.

Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon are all the same platform with different trim and details.
There is also the Ford Expedition and Expedition XL.
The Cady/Chevy/GMC triplets are all the top of the auto review lists. The Cadillac has the most bling and best customer service. If you're going to get the Yukon Denali--just buy the Cadillac or the Chevrolet.
Toyota will be coming out with a new Sequoia, Land Cruiser, and Lexus versions soon. They introduced the new Tundra and that will spawn these new big SUV redesigns.

I drove an Escalade once and the handling was TERRIFYING. It was vague to the point of being dangerous, imo. I'd stay away, personally, but that's your choice.

Go Texas Longhorns!
my only suggestions is buyed a used one, as there are great deals on all the ones people have sold b/c of gas prices. That, and depreciation on SUV's is really high, let someone else eat it for you.

The Search is over. I bought a 2006 Escalade ESV platinum edition. Fully loaded, low miles, got it for just under 50k. Thanks for the responses, I actually underestimated what I need for towing so truck platform SUV's were the only way to go. I needed something capable of 8500 lbs. Anyway thanks for all the input again.
