So it looks like you have high 30's to spend?
first off, C class mercedes gets a new generation in 2007 so i'd hold off for that personally (to get more info)
-Lexus is about to release the new IS250/350 (not sure if you meant to type that), so I'd wait for final specs/prcing for that first....before making a move-
as for the others-
-TSX is good value, if you don't mind the less power and FWD, but it handles pretty well-you can also get the TL, if you want more power, as its priced still cheaper than the 3 series BMW.
I love the look of the A4, but for its price, it lacks a bit of punch, in my opinion (2.0T still a bit sluggish, but it does come with the 3.2 version as well.)
I like the new 3 series if you can afford the 330.

I'd check out the IS350....it's supposed to have 306hp and get decent mileage too.
Don't really like the new 3series, but to each his own.
Like the A4, but always hear bad things about Audi's longevity
The MB C-class is going to be redesigned in a year or two, so resale will take a hit
I like the TSX and teh S60, but I don't find them to be anything spectacular

I was hoping to spend under 40, I like my 8 alot but I want something else to drive now and then. I looked at the G35, I thought they look too much like the 350Z.
The cars I listed were just ones that I was thinking of leasing because I would have 2 cars and my wife has hers so it wont get driven too much but it will keep the miles a little lower on my 8.

I think a new GTO would be a cool car to lease. You could beat the **** outta the engine then return it....biggest bang for your buck.
Out of the cars from your list I would say a BMW 330. Interior is gorgeous and drives incredibly smooth and reliably. After that I would go with the TSX or RL, whichever you can afford.

I thnk I have decided on the Audi, I want the 2.0T. I spoke to the guy who has done some things to my cars in the past and I can chip the Audi for some additional HP. I also like the idea of the quattro. I'll post pics as soon as it comes home.

audi's reliability rating is very bad. Annual bottom feeder in quality. http://autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=102697 I urge you to reconsider a brand that is more reliable. you might end up paying way more money than you intended to on fixing problems and having the car in the shop all the time.

And the audi will have a warranty so not much out of pocket. Plus I'll just get another Audi as a loaner.

they also have sudden acceleration problems. JUST KIDDING. I've known plenty of Audi owners, my sister an a4 avant owner, and she had no problems. I've also known some people who have had minor ones. But if you like the car, don't let some article dissuay you...if that was the case, you probably wouldn't be driving an 8 right now
just my .02 cents....
i personally like the style of the new a4s

I'd say go for the Audi. If you don't, you'll always be wondering what if? Who knows, you may get a winner with little to no problems.
If your looking at an Audi A4 2.0T, you might want to check out the Volvo S40 T5 AWD. I've driven the manual version and its a lot of fun to toss around. I didn't even notice any turbo lag.
