As far as I remember the elise was faster on a race track without the LSD. The only reason they put it in was because of all the whining (and rightfully so) from autocrossers in the US.

What happened to them? They started making more reliable, useable supercars which sold in far greater numbers than previous? I'm confused...

I am definately going to have to take a drive to my local lotus dealership to see this in person. I the body looks nice in the photos but it might look better or wrose in person. I wonder what the CD and CL is? At 3000LBS the v6 should get the car around the track very quick and probably have a top speed of around 165-175. The v6 should have a little more power then the stock camry engine and even a camry will do 150-160 (scary).

That's kind of the point. It's not a replacement or competitor to the elise, it was made to attract a new buyer to lotus.

I'd be interested if they added 70-100 hp.

That V6 is a good motor. 268 HP at 6200 RPM and 247 FT LBS at 4700 on 87 octane. Bump is up to 91 octane and toyota says it makes 280 and 260.

I think that these are the same number lotus is using. My guess is that they will make some minor changes and get it closer to 300HP.

Give them a couple of years. The first couple of years they will sell to the people that just have to have it then then they raise the bar to keep the sells going.

This is truly am awesome looking car.

I'm sure it will eventually get a SC. The exige and elise both started NA then moved to SC'ed. I remember reading that lotus did leave enough room around the engine to add a SC.

Front end doesn't match the backend. Back end looks better. Lotus has never been good with creating an original front end, which I find strange. But then it's not all that surprising, when you look at all those independently built sports cars coming out of the UK, like Noble. They all have nondescript, generic front ends, if not the entire car. Maybe it's a British mind creativity defect.

I would like to see that old Honda NSX replacement concept car from a couple of years back that Ferrari complained Honda copied them. What was the name of that car? That's still the best looking design overall.

I'll take an Exige as my weekend car, and the Evora will be the beater.

Yeah. That works nicely.

I love the front. Big happy face.
