Mazda CX-3 Face-lift Images

Here are some images of the new CX-3 face-lift.

Surprised Mazda has not gone the usual 'corporate' route and not changing the front Grille to the honeycomb style as used in the new CX-5 and soon to be released Mazda 6.

Apart from CX-3 new Interior changes I am finding it hard to see on the outside what has changed...

Can anyone point them out?

More a MY than a restyling IMHO.

BTW , there are no more new products in 2018 from Mazda (apart the rumored mx-5 with more power), i think there are chances to see production new 3 with skyactiv X this fall.

And still, I fail to see why it exists, and nobody will buy it.

Okay, maybe people buy it, but I still can't see why it exists.

It's smaller on the inside than a 3 hatch, and it doesn't look as good as the 3 hatch, either. 3 hatch is basically better in every way except it doesn't have an AWD option and it doesn't sit as high.

It doesn't have much practicality, and you want something small anyway, well you have Honda Fit, (used) Mazda 2, Smart Fortwo and bunch of other options.

Sure, the CX-3 looks nice, but I think it's master of none.

Sells pretty good down under, plus we also get the Mazda 2...will get you the numbers if you want?

YES it is SMALLER because it is designed/made off and from the Mazda 2 platform, 65% of CX-3 is a Mazda 2

Sure, since I am wrong about the "nobody buys it" comment.

I know that Honda HR-V is based off the Fit(or Jazz as some regions call it) platform, which is a parallel.

I have sat in an HR-V as well, as it doesn't feel nearly as cramped as the CX-3. That's not saying much, though, as the HR-V has its own issues, mainly that it's as well equipped as a Fit. No leather option even on the highest EX trim, and it just feels incredibly cheap.

Just because you're not the target audience for a product, doesn't mean that the product is a bad idea. Mazda doesn't have any one product that steals the show in any segment of the market, so they need a steady flow of sales all across the different segments in order to keep the profits rolling in.

And we shouldn't really tell a company how to make their vehicles better to serve our desires, because we are not the people who buy the vehicles that drive the biggest profits for a company like Mazda.

I bet if you went and asked Mazda's CEO if he could trade every RX-8 sale between 2004 and 2012 for a CX-9 sale, he take you up on that offer without a moment's hesitation.

Right now, after only 2.5 years, the CX-3 has almost outsold the RX-8's in the US and Canada. 80,020 for the RX-8 and so far, 72,555 for the CX-3. Just a couple more months, and the RX-8 will be a speed bump in Mazda's history.

Additionally, the CX-3 doesn't have a fraction of the warranty work that the RX-8 wound up with, so it makes a profit, and stays profitable all the way through it's 36k mile warranty, and even all the way through the end of the 60k mile powertrain coverage. Not too many RX-8's made it past the powertrain warranty without collecting something along the way.

If Mazda were to make a new sports car, it just doesn't make sense for them to even consider a non-piston engine, which is why they don't have any plans on making a sports car. They show us these fantastic looking concepts, but its nothing but a tease to keep us wishing.

I've got my Cayman, and I'm more than happy with my choice.

BC.

I get it, and for reference, I am not the one who's betting my money on another RE sports car anytime soon. And you can never compare the sales of sports cars to family vehicles. How well are the Miatas selling these days?

I am just really puzzled about why people like the CX-3 because I definitely couldn't see anything really great about it. Perhaps I need to talk to a CX-3 owner to really understand the charm of it. Is it because of the AWD? Or is it something else?

WHAT CHANGED IN CX-3 UPDATE...

Updated tuning to the SkyActiv 2.0-liter engine increase output to
148 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque,
both up two of their respective units from the 2018 model.
Plus Mazda's unique G-Vectoring Control.

Visually, the 2019 CX-3 adds a bit more sparkle to its designer suit.
Chrome accents highlight the front spoiler and continue down the length
of the car, sprucing up the black trim on the rocker panels.

Additionally, piano black accents can be found throughout,
trimming the B- and C-pillars as well as forming the and fog lamp bezels.
New 18-inch wheels class up the lower half nicely.

Inside, the seats are of an all-new design, wider and more supportive.
Leather also becomes available for the first time in higher trims.
A new center console with storage and integrated armrest sits
between the front seats, made possible by the addition of an
electronic parking brake

Rear passengers get a center armrest too, with built-in cupholders.
Thicker door panels, headliner, and rear windows, as well as
redesigned door seams, make for a quieter cabin.
