(Off topic rant)....Just when I thought the Mazda light colour leather interior fad had reached it's ultimate low, they release the Shinka interior with red stitching and plumb new depths in ugly.

I see in one of those pics Bern that Mazda have the shift orientation correct. Downshift is forward, upshift is aft. Have been in cars where it is the other way around....it feels odd.

$23.8K for FWD, wonder how much AWD is. I also wonder what kind of mileage it will get.
I wonder which cars they are competing with at that pricepoint. Certainly Ford Escape is cheaper.

Mazda has instituted a pre order program with the CX-7 integrated into the mazdausa website. starting soon you be able to go to the website and search the inventory for the CX-7s already allocated to the dealers, request a quote etc etc they are calling it the First Choice Buyers Program.

I really like this thing, it sort of reminds me of the Nissan Murano, except its better. Murano is a piece of garbage, ugly and bad quality. I think theres a huge market out there for this car, and that market is expanding everyday as Americans shift from big gas guzzling SUVs to lighter cars.

Got my April 17 Autoweek in the mail today. Had a small article on the introduction of the CX-9 at the NY Auto Show. In the text it said "the smaller CX-7, which goes on sale this month" A call to my local dealer reveiled that they were notified their first cars should arrive by 4/24/06

awsome, thanks for posting those. I've been very interested in this auto since announced. Can you tell how it is sized compared to a murano? Is it slightly smaller or pretty much exact same size?
