I highly doubt this announcement will affect prices. If anything it will help boost sales.

Nah, I don't think it will make an impact. We bought a 2002 GMC Envoy after it won Motortrends award. Didn't do anything to pricing. It's an SUV.

I'm seriously considering a CX9 to replace our Tribute as the family truckster.
Haven't test driven one yet, because I know if I like it, it's all over, and I'll be driving home in one.

^ It did for me, I was in the market to buy a cx9, and the dealer told me, that because the cx9 won MT award, that they were unwilling to reduce the selling price.

That's just typical car salesperson BS.

Sales people are snakes, and you must look like a tasty mouse. ;-)

You need to act like a mongoose if you want to do well with a sales person.

My wife was smart to buy hers last year when they came out, first one in louisiana even. It is a very smooth ride and has alot of room when all the seats are down.

good suv, but whatever u do, once that powertrain warranty is up, SELL IT.

if the water pump needs replacement u need to pull the engine out
if the valve covers need to come off u need to pull the engine out
if the front cover must come off u need to pull the engine out
if the crank pulley needs to come off u have to pull the engine out

$$$$$$$$$$$ repairs.

if u ever have valve timign trouble or anything involving the removal of crank pulley, the engine must come out!

recently ford has had an issue with the CY (3.5L) and its timing chain tensioners. they are making noises and they need to be replaced! in order to replace them u must pull the engine! NOT CHEAP FOR FORD!

please do not own them once the warranty is up! for ur own sake!

this is coming from a mazda tech! please! ahhhhhhhhhhh!

We have had ours for about 8 months. No issues at all. It is a great family car!

Well, doesn't that just reign on the CX9 parade. Way to tell it like it is though. I admire that. I have the "get rid of" before the warranty wears out attitude on my Speed 6, but the reality is, keeping it and enduring any potential problems is still cheaper then trading in a car every 4 years. Doesn't mean this will happen, but that is a lousy setup. Time will tell.
