Mazda to Debut new vehicle at LA AUto SHOW!!
#202
The title of the thread is confusing. Did Mazda say they were debuting a new production vehicle or a new concept vehicle? Getting excited about a new concept vehicle is false hope IMO.

they didnt say either way- the LA auto show announced that Xnumber of automakers had commited to WORLD Debut s at this years LA AutoShow. Mazda is not saying anythin at all yet about what it could be in public. rumours are all we really have. but recently the new Mazda6 mule has been photographed a few times a mazda 2 mule was photographed also. and there have been furthur hints at a RWD entry coupe based on the Kabura concept having been green lighted.

I love the CLS' flowing lines. I can only hope the new 6 has some hints of this car whenever it debuts.
BMW IMO are beautifully engineered cars but, bloody ugly, there is not one model in their current line up that you can say looks great, the Z4 coupe, YUK! the 3,5 and 6 series, boring, x3 and x5...overpriced pick ups, the only BMW that does not look like a carved block of cheese on wheels is perhaps the new 3 series coupe.
I wonder how BM sell as many of the cars that they do outside Europe, the name obviously...
I hope the new Mazda 6 is as good as the present one...IMO goes not look a day old since its release...the best looking hatchback...ever...still fresh....I know other would disagree.

the very last thing Mazda said officially is that they had no plans for a b segment US car at this time
he was also quoted in automotive news saying the same thing.
Charlie --
I can't discuss any of our product development plans, but I can tell you
that at the moment, we don't have any plans to bring a B-segment car to
the US market. I also can tell you that we continue to study the
market, and will evaluate when and if we are to bring a MAZDA2-sized
vehicle to the US.

Yeah, I can't understand MNAO here, the Mazda 2 IS a very steady seller here at about 23% of Mazda Australia's pie. It's been on sale for close to 20 years now, previously as the 121. They are a very very light car, and competes with the usual, Honda Jazz, Suzuki Swift, Nissan Micra.
Reliability is well... typically MAZDA.
I remember MA originally did not want to market such a small light car, but, they did and the Mazda 2 is a very important part of their line up. They really handle, and have great storage, mainly a car for moms and students. I took a 2006 (this years) for a spin the other day...impressed for what they are. Dealers use them a Service loan cars..

they are working on a brand new b segment car that they wont comment about. but the reports say ford is using mazda to create its next generation bsegment car and mazda will share it. it may be built in mexico. ford moved its b segment manufacturing to mexico in advance so that it will be possible to "import" them cheaper.

Maybe that is why Mazda dont plan on bringing the Mazda2 over, sharing it with Ford and building it in Mexico could make it cheaper too, perfect for a little b segment car. I think we might see this in the near future in the auto show, almost every Jap manufacutuerer has a B segment car, Toyota, Honda, Nissan... Mazda needs one. They could get a decent amount of this market segment since they're pretty good with small cars, ie, mazda3, and at the price of these cars, the consumers wouldnt compare the Mazda to Toyota as strongly. The Yaris sucks anyways.
