Yep..Brings back memories..
Before they were officially released the then local Mazda Distributor (Addison Motors, before Mazda Australia), brought a Japan version out from the factory to do a metro dealership tour, I think it spent about a week in each dealers showroom....
Anyway, it was a canary yellow with the same plaid seats as this green one in Mazda Museum, no one was permitted to drive it, it was flat bedded around.
I did though get to drive the very first SA22C AU Spec for our Dealer from port, it was a white one with wine velor interior and tombstone front seats...I also just happen to drive back the very first FD @ another Dealer I worked in 1991.
This was when new cars were sometimes driven from Mazda warehouse as flat beds were not that common like today...customers were not as fussy then as all new cars had 30 KMS on the speedo.

BTW, MMC Japan has a lot more mint cars which are just not displayed.
See the little F1000 Bongo Van, we had one in the 70's as a Mazda Parts delivery van..
What a little screamer, the 70's version was 1000cc OHV Blue Engine, Rear Engine and rear wheel drive, 4 on the floor, all drum brakes, very very basic.
U'Joints (0706-89-251) were the biggest parts sellers, the F1000 Bongo would live almost forever.
You could still buy them brand new up to about 1976 from memory.

The only rx8 I saw in there was a picture on the wall but maybe I missed something.
Edit: I found it now, google maps bugged out and just starting moving for me and sent me into the back room that had the rx8 lol.
