"Aimed at RX-7 buyers"
Mazda Australia ripped off the Aussie buyer by almost doubling the price of the better optioned RX-7 in Japan.
Example.... OZ - 1995 = AU$89k
Example.... JAP- 1995 = AU$48k
Mazda Auatralia are still ripping the Aussie public off with the RX-8
Example.... OZ - 2003 = AU$63k
Example.... JAP- 2003 = AU$29k
Nothing to do with import duties or taxes or compliance. Its pure profiterring.....
Expect the same for this Kabura, although Mazda Japan will be too scared to offer a rotary engine option so there goes the idea of chasing RX-7 buyers..........lol

DMHR....Could not agree more, MA are rip off Bastards!!!, no other way of describing it...
Look at 8 sales here, dealers are bursting with 8 stock ,and there are 2005 models still on MA price list as of 1st Oct!...
The 8, is becoming unfordable here...like the FD RX-7...
How can they justify the prices of their cars, they ain't going to change as they are having record sales...exept the 8, they should be at least 14,000.00 cheaper.
ALL thier range should be cheaper..

I just love it when people are arguing who is getting ripped off the most: "AUS prices are insance", "UK citizens have it quite badly", "gas prices in the US are sky-rocketing" and that sort of dribble.......
Prices in Greece are higher than any other country (except Denmark I think), and we have the lowest salaries in the EU-15, and one of the lower ones in the EU-25 zone. So there...

5" or 4" 0-100 in the Kabura ? Yeah, and I'll be landing on Mars tomorrow morning...Kabura is a Miata-type of car: light, nible, sporty, with just enough room and space. Thus an alleged low price of circa-20K....
If it doesn't have an "RX-" something, it ain't gonna be rotary-powered....it will be piston-powered.
From the above, Kabura will be the same as the RX-8: NOT an RX-7 descedant or replacement....

and most parts are share with the normal 2.3 right?
what is the rotary engine plant doing right now? with rx-8 production at 1,500 units a month? do they fire all the workers? mazda has to find something for this people to do?
Another, thing Mazda has not shown any new concept cars for this year, I think thats weird.
