If everyone liked the same cars and the same attributes, I wouldn't be interested in them.

^ true. I think the styling of the S2000 is great and a bit ahead of it's time actually.

The s2000 deserves cred for being the last great Honda. Talk about a brand going to **** in a short period of time.

I didn't know the S2k was a boring car, glad you reminded me. You saved me the cash of not buying one this friday.

I do agree that 99% of the hondas are boring, but I dont' find Lexus cars boring at all.

I just came back from a two hour drive in my new MX-5 through the Adelaide Hills....
It's still only done 700 KMS or 420 miles.

The twisties and the straights..wow...well they used to have a Classic Car event here for over 10 years.

WOW...Top down,,,wind in the hair (what hair)...THIS IS WHAT Roadstering IS all about...

Just F-ecking BRILLIANT....

So my 8 is parked for Summer and probably next winter giving her a rest.

Immediate things I notice comparing the 5 to the 8 , it could be better at...

Steering is fantastic, BUT, not a sharp or as fast as the electrics on the RX-8...the MX-5 has hydraulic PS.

I think it needs a stiffer front sway bar, (side to side body roll is a little too much even with Bilstein shocks and the "sports suspension" package) possibly even a new rear sway also.

I might look into my S2 front and rear, swap from mine to my 5 and buy the R3 rear sway for the rear of my 8.??..

But really... this is what a 2 door coupe is about, and I did not miss the power, BUT, I definitely miss the Rotary Engine, I don't care what ANYONE says a Banger is just not the same.

Agreed. The engine is what I dislike the most about my 99 Miata

This was pretty much my feeling during my MX-5 test drive. (in comparison) Felt floaty complete with slow steering, softish ride, lots of leaning in turns and lacking precision, power, and much room inside, plus no sweet rotary whine!

It was with stunned but blessed relief returning to my lowered, coilover sprung, sharp as a tack handling sweet 8 with some room in it. Lacking much decent top down weather here most of the year, that was the 1st and last interest in that car. Mods will likely help a lot and alleviate most of the issues. Glad you're enjoying your new ride ... as it should be!

Oh it is wonderful...fantastic and every other word with the top down again today, around the twisties, and all the lookers....I get as many if not more than in my 8.

In the direct sun, the Dolphin Grey is a great colour...and the curves, and extra chrome, it looks a Classic and it is new...if you know what I mean.

So, yes, I am thinking of RX-8 S2 Sways for my NC, and put a new Rear R3 sway on my 8.
The NC2 Bilstein Shocks appear good, IMO body roll is a little too much at low speed, higher speed it feels pretty good...so that is where I believe changing the sways will do the trick.

RX-8 electric Steering is much better.

God I wish this 5 had a Rotary...it would be really superb.

Look I don't care what banger Engine is in it, I have driven the Skyactiv Mazda 3 Auto 2.0 and it is a great little engine, but, you are really hard pressed to tell the difference with MZR...

A Banger is a Banger...as we know....NOTHING is like a Rotary Engine.
