Jeez the MME show organizer could have touched up the paintwork with a paint pen, paint marks everywhere.
Goes to confirm Mazda's crap paintwork, my main longstanding gripes about this brand...penny pinching.
If Mazda can save a teaspoon of paint per car they will.
Case in-point all new Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 sedans have rust coming thought at spot welds in-trunk lid gutters....because not enough paint applied.
This really peeves me about Mazda, all paint is applied by robots and computerized, one more ''pass over'' of spray paint would stop this BS...should never happen in the first place.
MAZDA, you don't upscale the BRAND by being tight assed over paint and where it is applied.!!
This has been happening for years!
''Paint thickness has been improved'' Really TSB.

I spoke with our local dealership owner here in Pensacola, FL and he is estimating a $70k price tag for it. I might be able to afford it in 10 years if I start saving now, lol

Dealerships don't know anything.. The RX-Vision concept is just that, a concept. Not production.

Dealers definitely don't know ****. When the S2's came out, I went to my local dealer to look at an R3 I heard they had and two guys were trying to show me a GT in the lot and were insistent that there was no R3 model even though when we walked inside, they had a Velocity Red one on the show room floor, .
My Buddy has sold Toyotas for 20 years and I think for the last ten, has told me about the new Supra that was coming out,

I will never forget when my dealer salesman told me how "sweet the turbo was" on the R3 I was buying.

Like I have said before Car Salespeople are a dim a dozen and Dealership know nothing about any new models as they are told nothing, until they (new car model) are on their door step.
And for very good reason, any car brand (Mazda) wants dealers to sell what they make now, not something which may never happen.
Even Dealer Principals are told sweet FA....might be about a month or two out from release.

The parts guys is correct, R3 is only a selling name invented by 'sales', and is not a reference to anything a Dealer uses in Parts or Service, there is no R3 actually listed in form of name, badges or in any Mazda EPC Electronic Parts Catalog identification....it is a 2009 FE (Series 2 RX-8).
And is actually refereed to as one with "Side Spoiler Large" or with "Bilstein Make" in suspension.
Really there is nothing 'special' about an R3, apart from shocks, wheels, seats, spoilers, that is all, nothing in gearing, engine, trans, diff, it is an S2.
Why you always bring your VIN to any parts guy to be certain you are getting what is correct for your car...your VIN tells the guy what is fitted to your car.
There are just too many variations in/of models and trims and everything else to know off the top of ones head (brain) all the details.
Today, I would insist on the same, rather than have some smart arsed owner trying to tell me something I don't care about and don't have the time to discuss. (no offence).

That said, I am quite fortunate to have been working with the same parts manager for over 25 years and his knowledge and customer service is unparalleled. Kudos to Steve at Lakewood Mazda in Colorado.

Lower emissions, And remove any doubt that rotarys can have a future. Oh ya
And take that whole " no replacement for displacement"
Saying and leave it in the dust,
Where it belongs! Rotary rules

Must be somehow connected to the "Rotary pillow whomper" patent mentioned at the end
