Wankelbolt, yes you are one who said you would like it to happen, but many others are just nay-sayers and would never admit it if ultimately it did happen. I still believe it will happen and I am not afraid to take any real bets (as real as any bet over the internet could really be). But of course it might NOT happen. If a Donald Trump can actually get to be President with 3 million less votes and only a 40% approval rating , and then promptly implode the country and send our allies around the world into panic , then nothing is a safe bet.
I just have more faith in Mazda than most here on this thread. My faith is not based in fantasy or illusion, but in the facts of my 44+ years of actual history and experience with Mazda and its vehicles, and through all the ups and downs of the automotive decades. I will never be afraid to take a chance on Mazda, it is that simple. And it seems Car and Driver, which has a similar 44+ years of history with Mazda, agrees.

I would be very happy if the next generation of RE is a rotary-hybrid. Build the fantastic characteristics of the FE and FD3S into a 2+2 rotary-hybrid and I'd buy it over other options. Otherwise I would go sporty sedan (ATS-V or M) or wagon (Alfa Romeo Quad MT wagon or 3-series wagon RWD MT).

I can just imagine the buzz at Mazda Japan and in the labs and pilot facilities of the Rotary Engine Group - "WE'RE BACK ON BABY"! Thanks Trump for rolling back fuel economy standards!

Thought the same thing the economy standards set by the goose (no offence) were way way way too steep (high) and would have cost the car buyer a fortune, was said to cost the car industry 200 $billion dollars to 'try' and conform, who the hell do these idiots think who pays for this?, Santa.
The prosperity that fossils has given the world is ENORMOUS in every respect, everything we use has come out of the ground.

California has the rights to keep the tougher standards, no matter what Trump wants. And it looks like NY could do the same. So no slam dunk for Trump policy supporters. read the fine print folks.

A coupla years ago, I was shoveling 6 feet of snow off my roof for fear it actually might
cave in.
2 weeks ago it was 70 degs, but spent the last 2 days dealing with the snow and ice in my driveway.
5, 10 years ago my attitude was 'Global Warming, Climate Change --whatever, who cares-doesn't affect me'.
Tell that to my aching back. .. and I've got it easy. At least I don't live in what's become a dustbowl formerly known as the midwest not to mention burnt out California.
