Gee,,, as I see it Mazda followers/owners have had a feast of new cars lately...2003 on....

New Mazda 6... still a very high industry standard...all new model soon.
RX-8...a WOW factor car thats cheap...well in the US.
Mazda 2
Mazda 3 still can not make enough
Mazda 5 strong US Seller
Mazdaspeed 6
Mazdaspeed 3 one of the fastest hatches made.
ALL new MX-5/ Miata still acclaimed as the best roadster
ALL new CX-7
ALL new CX-9 soon
BT-50 Ute

Mazda are a small car manufacturer with production schedules many car makers would love to have.
Mazda 3 and 6 plant at Hofu, Japan has been going 24/7 since 2002 on 3 shifts.
Hiroshima plants are also soon 24/7 when CX-9 comes on line..
Capacity restraints will be an issue for all Japan made Mazda's.

I think its great to see Mazda's vision and concept cars.

zoom44, I'd love rear sliding doors (gulp, minivan like) on the next RX8, that would make it alot better than opening out like the front doors. I'd also like, yeah it's respectable, more space in the rear like in the GTO which puts some 4 door sedans to shame with all the space it gives in the rear.

But...that's coming from a new dad, I know most would probably want just 2 doors.

Or classic prototype vehicles that are used to test the abilities and imagination of its designers and engineers like the chrysler ME410 supercar.

Not some hunk of painted clay with wheels attached that show a possible future styling theme in 20 years... to me thats just a half *** and cheap attempt to try to draw attention to your booth at an autoshow. Then to have multiple clay lumps in a year is just disgusting.

Those concepts are made of clay? I mean I know they're clay at some point during the design process, but you're saying the concepts they take to car shows are actually just painted clay? Is that even possible? Playdoh sure, but clay?

Who says they are made of clay? Mazda hasn't said that. It's awfully hard to have clay actually have real moving parts on it as these cars have.

eh, i guess the Nagare actually made it to fiberglass... 1/2 a step up from a blob of clay - my point remains

Although it is simply a fiberglass shell powered by an electric motor, the Nagare — pronounced nah-gar-ay, Japanese for “flow” — was one of the hits of the show.

"sources say plans for an MX-3 successor are on hold now that the MX-5 Roadster Coupe is mopping up sales of small tin-top sports cars."

that is a quote from a ryuga article on the CAR mag website http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/news.php?sid=333&page=1 i havent heard that from any where else . in fact there have been a couple of people siunce 7stock say that the kabura/mx-3 project was definetly green lighted. i guess we wait to see what the next concept in this trilogy is. hmmm....

Is there any way to get the sales figure for MX-5 PRHT?

actually this just came to me... do u think that Mazda tested market demand for a lightweight, low power, entry level, RWD coupe with the MX-5 PRHT? I still dont see a reason behind the hardtop miata, they didnt make it for the NA and NB, why now. anyhow, great to see its doing well, according to the article, i hope we can see a Kabura soon, piston or rotary.

Kinda like the car and noticing the continuing use of those odd but yet growing on me headlights.. (future Rx-8 headlights maybe?).

On the use of the Clay. All/most concept cars are first done in clay and worked over and then covered in plastic and blah blah blah lol.. sorry dont feel like typing shyt load of details. Pretty much if the windows are tinted pure black and nothing is really funtional its a clay model they brought out. The one's we've seen I bet are fiber glass or similar made material made.
