Did they intentionally make that signing look like they were at a wedding?
I expect this is good for Mazda as it gives them some necessary economy of scale to fill their lineup. Hopefully it does not detract, or dilute the feel and looks of their recent work. |
I never thought I'd see the day when the Japanese sports car market would be in such a sad state. Hopefully someone comes through pretty soon.

There is a rumour going around that part of this agreement between Mazda and Toyota will see Mazda making the new 86 and BRZ off the ND MX-5 (Miata) platform by @ Mazda.
Which actually makes sense as Mazda are going to lose big time if they don't get more units made from this ND platform, yes there is Fiat, but still not enough. No more Rotaries to share the load like MX-5 previous gens. This Fiat thing is nothing but a balls up, first it was going to be an Alfa, now a Fiat, now Marchiones is trying to sell FAC to GM before he goes and Barra is not interesting but he still keeps asking shareholders to pressure upper management. |

Dealers then tell owners to change Oil and Filter every 600 miles (1000kms), free of charge.. 3. Owners complain that the Brakes are not working very well. 4. Dealers renew Brake Vacuum units, these things never fail in Mazda's.(except Ford product)...was not the problem. 5. The reason that's these cars Brakes were going off/hard was because the engine cylinder head was slowly dying, reduced vacuum. 6. Camshaft Exhaust lobes cutting down to zero by Rockers (no Vacuum, no Brakes, no Engine). 7. Turbo's also defective. 8. Diesel Injectors leaking, wrong tightening torque. 9. Multiple PCM Firmware Updates 10. Replace all of the above. Includes new Mazda 6 with 2.2. THIS is the reason you are not seeing and SA-D in North America...not some PR BS. |

ASH8 I respect how much you know about all things Mazda. but you don't live in the US and yes the diesel fuel sold here is crap and so inconsistent from fuel station to station and state to state. I have friends with VW diesels who travel across states and have problems because of the crap diesel. One friend, a longtime SCCA Mazda racer, finally got feed up after VW had to almost completely rebuild his NEW VW diesel engine twice (under warranty) after the fuel here screwed it up. So he sold the VW after the last engine rebuild and bought a manual tranny Skyactiv Mazda 6 and he is much happier.

And those problems are not related only to Mazda diesels ,almost all manufacturers are suffering, a friend of mine works in a Porsche shop, and there are plenty of Cayenne and Macan diesel with sized engines, DPF problems, urea problems and so on. Modern diesels are great engines to use and with an exceptional power to consumption ratio, but maybe are too complicated.... That's way i've purchased my 6GJ with the 2.5 gasoline engine under the hood...basically because i don't like to go often to shop....:D: |

Not US fuel related, but might be of interest to you ASH8: MSV ? Speedsource Mazda LMP2 switching to gasoline engine THE early release SA-D engine are a failure (up to late 2013 production), every one of them, I stand by what I said and know of actual facts. Please don't even go where the Speedsource Mazda 6 is/was doing or going, that diesel engine is now/was so far from a OEM SA-D is it not funny, I think the only final OE main part they used in the end was the Cylinder Block and some bolts and nuts.....Head, Pistons, Turbo, all non SA-D....everything else melted or broke. The engine is a failure, full stop, and just imagine the publicity and Mazda reputation and the COST in the USA IF it happened there (Lemon law)? I will repeat what is the fact, these diesel Mazda 6's were fully tested in North America and ready for line production to go, until the engines started failing elsewhere, Japan put a stop on it. Fuel quality or engine/car performance/emissions is a smoke screen. BTW, Skyavtic Diesel Manual Transmissions are also now failing, in every model, CX-5,3,6. For the record, I would never own or spend my money on ANY diesel engine car, I have worked with them for a long time. They are an expensive to service, and to repair, and cost of fuel, a JOKE. They should stay in Trucks and Buses. (they are best as A continual running engine (not stop, cold, and go). Nothing has changed in the past 60 years. |
ASH8, The new stricter emissions coming will probably kill the diesel cars as much as their unreliability, so all this discussion and differences of opinion may all be a moot point for diesel cars very soon.
