This is a Pick Up or Ute..
IMO it will be far better looking in the flesh..
Frankly, very few or close to NO, None, Zero, Zip, Nada "Vehicles" look good in pics.
IMO Every new car looks a little strange with recent large Sheet metal, Big High Fronts and Rears.
Designing a vehicle today to conform to the "worlds" safety and PEDESTRIAN regulations must be a bloody nightmare.
It is because of PEDESTRIANS we have lost sharp and low pointed hoods and bumpers.
Even the "newer 2012" models are looking worse than the 2003-5 breed.
The new 2012 Audi's, GM , Ford's, All of them look bloody awful, they (designers) just don't know how and what to make the fronts look good, because there is "too much canvas to paint".

Alfy...IF he wins...I do not like my vibes I am feeling about Webber, I just have this funny feeling it may slip buy him, he needs to win next round.
IMO, RB should make their mind up who they want to Pull for..
Yeah, get your BT-50 with a Webber BBQ in the back...
( a Webber BBQ here is a portable round Pot BBQ with 3 legs), was out before M Webber was born..lol

It is a bloody truck...a work horse...I just wonder what you experts would make, that would pass ALL safety and pay load regulations?
HIDEOUS is what comes out of America, as far as trucks go...they are King at UGLY...

did I strike a nerve Ash?
c'mon, do you really like that goofy looking big smile on the front?
I'm sure the production model will be different but if that showed up on showrooms here, it wouldn't sell.
Maybe it's cus we only make ugly so ugly is all we like and buy.

It's growing on me quickly, especially after the video. Pretty cool. It has remnants of Nagare even reminding me of Furai a bit in the nose (Which I don't like on the Furai but looks okay here).

Not at all...
Each to their own...goofy..??
There are always those who will associate vehicles with humans in appearance...strange.
Funny how every car maker is using Mazda's 5 point grille shape they started nearly 20 years ago.
Like the Mazda 3 it is so HIDEOUS or GOOFY it is selling in Record Numbers world wide (except US)....but they are face-lifting it slightly next year because of US.
You guys are weird..lol...
NOW THIS IS UGLY.....

Mazda trucks still baffle me, but the more I look around, the more old Mazda light pickups I see trundling around day to day, quietly (so to speak) doing their job without all the obnoxious 'tude of the big American trucks. They must be doing something right to still be on the road after everything else has turned to rust, I guess.

I don't understand why they are wasting time with this. If someone wants to shop for a truck, Mazda won't even come to mind. The cross-overs they already have are good enough.
By the way Mazda...some of us here are still waiting for a new sports car!!! I guarantee you will have a lot easier time trying to sell a sports car than a truck.

That thing is beyond hideous. The designer and owner of Mazda need to be kicked in the crotch. This things looks like they took a car and just chopped the truck bed out of it. The proportions are off and most parts don't look like they mesh with the car. So far the only car company I have seen that somewhat pulls off the use of the same parts on most cars is VW. The tail lights and head lights both look like were pulled from the shelf and smashed into the body panels.
If I was forced to buy a truck I would have to import a Holden Ute SS. I am not a truck guy. American trucks are ok but 1000 times better than this monstrosity.
This thing is just beautiful.

because there are countries outside of the US. In Australia, SE Asia, Phillipines, SA etc the Mazda Trucks sell really well and are quite good for their price. This truck isnt intended for US and will probably not be brought here at all.
google search Mazda Bakkie for your edification
