Mazda's Future ~ Sky Activ Intro

Im really looking forward to their SkyActiv-MT. Lighter than older gen 6-speed and faster shifting. Oh yeah !
and their SkyActiv-Drive, locks up 90% of the time, pretty good if driving around the city is what you need. less drivetrain lost.
I wonder if they can make i-Stop possible on Rotary engine, probably not, cuz if the engine stops, the fuel will just sink to the bottom of the housing in no time.

i-Stop, from what I understand, has to have direct injection, so I don't think flooding should be an issue; but to be on the safe side, I hope that Mazda uses better ignition coils than the OEM coils from the 8.

Mazda has been using cheap ... I mean less powerful coil since FD days.
Yep, talking about since 1992 (thats when FD3S first came out in Japan)
FC coils (made by Nippon Denso) are so powerful and durable that hell my FC with 212K odo still using the original one and going STRONG.
Yes there were some unlucky people out there and it cost an arm and leg for a brand new unit (like 1K), but for something that can last 20+ years? I think that's f-king worth it.
Stock FC coils can go up to hmm around 450-500 hp. that's more than twice the power of stock car.
