Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG
2 Bad things about it. Its not coming to the States and it cost $250,000 Big Ones.
A 582-bhp supercharged 5.5-liter V-8. Carbon-fiber, inside and out. A 5-speed paddle-shifted manual. Yes, the low-volume (100 units), approximately $250,000 Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG has it all. Between its race-bred bodywork and stripped-but-still-sumptuous interior, this car is a street-legal German Touring Car (DTM) racer.
Sadly, like so many other exhilarating high-performance machines from overseas, the CLK DTM AMG will not be exported to the United States. Besides, every one of them is already spoken for. Still, I wouldn’t be surprised if at least a handful make it stateside someday.
Learn more about the Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG from Editor-at-Large John Lamm’s First Drive report in the September 2005 issue of Road & Track.
