The other 2 RX-8 clocked in the 1.07 area.

 

I don't know what R-Magic RX-8 is, but I know the factory Mazda RX-8 runs 1:11.9 on the 93th position, and GTR is on the 2nd position with 1:0.3.1 on the list of over 100 cars. GTR is extremely fast car, and the only Japanese car on the top 10th list.

This Best Motoring video (below) features the Mazda RX8 (Mazdaspeed) A-spec doing Tsukuba in 1:08:70. That would put it at 61st place. And let's face it, this car isn't that much different than the regular RX8 that ran the 1:11.

That's a great time for the GTR. Nissan has definitely built a winner. If only it was within reach for most of us. Maybe after 20 years of depreciation?

Miata > RX-8 !??

Unless this was the Mazdaspeed Miata, known as the Roadster Turbo in Japan, this can't be right. In stock form, the Miata, even the new NC MX-5, is a slower car than the RX-8.

 

im sorry, but unless my eyes decieve me, i dont see the R35 in the number 2 postition. the gallardo is filling that. the R34 is in the number 15 spot. but oooookk

and there is NO WAY IN HELL that the 8 would be in 93rd spot unless this is a drag race. if this is an actual track, there is NO WAY a honda civic R or a 350z would beat the 8 with a good driver

 

Remember that the R35 is a completely stock car, the RX-8 and Miata you guys are comparing it with are completely tuned for the race track.

 

I'm assuming that this is a list he found somewhere that probably hasnt been updated in the last 2 days. look at the gallardo's time and the time that the R35 got... notice the R35 is faster than the gallardo yet still slower than the ferrari in 1st place....

as for the rest of the list, it could depend on many things, especially how stock each car is.

I really dont like Best Motoring Sometimes...the results sometimes are just too crazy

 

I think its very differnt, the stock RX8 is known to have a forgiving soft suspension with relatively high body roll that makes it more suited for comfortable every day driving that the track. The stiffer suspension of the mazda speed version makes a big different when it comes to track handling and really brings out the true potential of the rx8

 

Yes, except the best time is 53’589.

 

The list isn't updated yet. R35 is on the 2nd position. and you think 350Z couldn't beat the the 8 on the track? lol.

 

stock for stock? i would say that the 8 would smoke it depending on the track. if it is a track with lots of turns and short straights, then the 8 would for sure smoke it (unless the driver is an idiot). but if the track had long straights, then the Z should win, but the 8 would be on its tail in the turns. you know you cant argue with that.

 

Unless we're talking a parking lot with cones the RX-8 doesn't have much of a chance. Grip reality!

you can't be more wrong.
first off..suspension: coilovers, tower bars, underbraces, sways bars. ( that's like 2000 USD there)
then we have wheels: 18 MAG wheels mazdaspeed each weight like 17 pounds ( correct me if i am wrong. the stock wheels are around 25 pounds) ROTATIONAL mass a big thing.

then of course, one of the most important thing is the Mazdaspeed LSD, bi directional.

these mods are in the price of + 8000 USD.

 

Tsukuba doesn't have long straights, yet the Z has proven faster by quite a bit the few times they have been pitted against one another. Even in modified form (A-spec) the RX-8 was quite a bit off the pace.

 

well you know as well as i do that the driver is very important to how well a car does. but yes, the Z is a fast car. i find it funny that my 2000 mustang has a 3.8, yet it puts out 190 hp. yet the Z has a 3.5 and puts out 302 hp. gotta love technology

 

new 350Z has 306hp which is capable of 13.2@107mph in 1/4. There are few owners who have done it already. And the handling on the Z is quite well too. Do you think 8 have a chance to beat it at the track? well, maybe Ike is right, RX-8 should should win at a parking lot with cones. lol.. I am not putting down the 8, but you said Z is no way to beat RX-8 at the track that makes me laugh...
