Good god, that's a huge video. (waiting on download)

And another note to all the people getting offended, thanks for making Americans look like morons. Go tell the Brits (you know, who weren't neutral) to change the name of their Japfest.

I did this thread to show fellow car entusiasts some nice photos and videos of JDM Cars drifting and racing.

For everones amuse, not to offend.

As Im a nice guy I will edit my posts and take away the name of the carmeet but I will not call up the organiser of the meeting and demand them to change the name of the meeting (I think thats ok for everybody exept Potentiated).

I thank you others that has posted in my defense =)

Now I have to do some work sadly, before my boss see that im surfing instead of working

Whats about this ad then?

I think "Potentiated" must call Google and tell them to stop using this ad right away.

There is one little problem with your logic though. Let me walk you through this.

1. A words meaning is equal to the meaning the majority of people think it means. It goes for words, abbreviations etc. (For example FTW meant **** The World before, and now all internet geeks have made it mean For The Win).

2. A word can still have a local meaning and then people normally have the courtesy of using it with that meaning when communicating with that group.

Now to the point. People who are real intellectuals and study this subject are a minority. Therefore according to point 1 their view is invalid. Unless of course it is just in that group at in which case point 2 applies.

As for point 2 on a car forum a Jap car is a very accepted term (see the google ad). Obviously you are not a courteous person since you do not accept this fact and instead go on a crusade and try to create problems where there are none.

Conclusions: You are wrong, your statement is stupid and you are stupid.

Cheers!

I'm from Norway (Swedens neighbor for the less insightful-in-geography people) and japsebil (meaning japcar) is a pretty common term. There's no negative load in that in any way, and as the OP said, there's never a reason to speak negative about japanese people so we really wouldn't know what word to use, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't use jap, as for us that's just an abbrevation.

In Europe many people also don't understand that Yankee means something specific. Many people think it's only meaning is "an American". It's also quite hard to see why we shouldn't use the n-word (in all it's forms) when every rap or r&b video you see uses it about themselves. (however you find out pretty fast not to say that). Also we don't bleep normal tv shows for cursing here, I'd say the US is oversensitve, too politically correct, and full of people that make too much fuss of trivial ****. Judging by lawsuits and such

Luckily most people here got the point. You can't demand that everyone else has the same meaning of words as yourself, simple as that

Thanks for the video. Big download, gotta see it later

Most Americans (myself included) don't know the difference between Sweden, Norway, and Finland, let alone speak any language other than American English, and most don't speak or write English that well. But there are a few good things about us too. After all, our former Vice President invented the Internet and he still lets everyone use it for free so that's not so bad.

Thanks for the videos!

robrecht: You make a good point Thank him for the internet for me :P

The difference between Sweden, Norway and Finland is that Finland make the best cellphones, Sweden make the best tractors and safest cars, and we just fell *** deep into oil in the 70s so we made our own paradise and don't care what anyone thinks

Some nice cars in this vid btw.
