there is one lost love of the big block i miss...the 1969 plymouth road runner.it was always the car i cannot forget that gave the true meaning of power.it was not great on the turns but it sure was a eye catcher.ran like a bat outa hell and never a problem with starting or running the hell out of it!!!i also need to give props to my old 67 ford fairlane.nobody knew it ran so good because you could not hear it running untill you hit 5000 r.p.m.'s and dropped the clutch to see there eyes pop out there heads for so much power from a quiet engine you could not hear running even if you were standing right next to it!when it comes to my 8 i get that same feeling of knowing i have something different then the rest that will keep me smiling for years to come!!

I can appreciate the late 60's early 70's muscle cars and probably like GM the best. I think there's alot of great modern muscle cars out there also like Vipers, differents versions of Corvettes, ect.
Anybody remember the Sledgehammer from the '80s? I would consider this a muscle car.

Two kinds of fun... tight nimble handling and brute torque... why choose? Get both!

I have never been much of a fan of muscle cars. I like the aerodynamic looks of cars such as the Lotus Exige (and of course rx8). I don't like the new mustangs because it was created as a cheap car with bad handling but fast on drag. But the STI is faster and I prefer its looks.
However, the new Camaro looks awesome (concept car). I prefer the eight in looks but the new Camaro has more style than the Charger and Mustang.

lol.
This isn't from any data but I'd guess the 2 cars that kill the most are the Eclipse and Mustangs. Eclipses look like sport cars but have terrible handling. But, unlike the Mustang, you can fix that with aftermarket suspension and such. There is no hope for cars like Mustangs. Having such a big engine in the front just leads to bad balance and they sit high.
Another reason why I hate mustangs is everyone has them. You can't visit your family on Thanksgivig and say "I bought a Mustang" and expect them to be impressed. Your family would just think "wow, who doesn't have one?" RX8 is a car your family might be interested enough to ride in... or at least go outside to see it. I feel the same way about Corvettes. There are at least 15 where I live, I see one every other day. But something like an Exige looks more expensive because it is aggressive and no one has heard of it. You can impress more people with an exige than a corvette and same with rx8 compared to the mustang. Rarity is what makes a car look good. RX8 would be boring if there were as many as mustangs.

Eclipse's are better than Mustangs because their bad handling can be fixed? You're serious? You're not trying to "take the ****" here, right? I can see we have a real knowledgable expert here. Just search these forums only and you'll see... try the internet too. The new Mustang has done very well in racing. The car is too heavy and the live axel won't give you the best ride, but not able to be tuned to handle? That is completely false. Even the old ones with heavy suspension work won SCCA races. The new platform has been doing well repeatedly in racing, has a better ride and has less of the problems typical of a live axel setup. Out of the box it may only be a decent handling car, but with mods like the Saleen suspension package or Ford Racing suspension package, some lightweight rims and sticky rubber, you'll find the new Mustang handling itself quite well.
