Mustang Forum help, please!

A friend who's car just got totaled is looking at a V6 2003 mustang- but she knows nothing about them, or where to look for any information on their reliabilty (it has 83k miles) etc. Anyone have any suggestions about where I can point her?

I don't know much about mustangs, but my boss did, he has an 03 cobra and is always on steelcitystangs.com. I don't know how helpful it may be, but I always saw him on there at work.

Consumer reports has always slammed the reliability of the V6 Mustangs...much more than the V8's.....something to consider.

http://forums.stangnet.com/

i have a 2000 v6 and found a ton of help on this forum.

what i've experienced:
1. if its stick its time for a clutch
2. check the rear diff, mine started leaking fluid at about 60k.
3. have the exhaust looked at, especially from the cats to the headers. the cats sit low and the stock headers tend to crack from repeated hits.
4. check for any aftermarket electronics, the stock alternator isn't a champ.
5. check the roof paint, its one of the first area's to rust and or chip.

As for personal experience, i've beat the hell out of mine and its still running strong at 151k.

good luck and get a good price!

I know, I printed out all the consumer reports stuff for her- but it's one of those times where someone's got something in their head and all you can do is give them as much information as possible.
