Mustang madness
Looks like Ford's got themselves a VERY successful product launch. Say what you will, but she's gonna sell sell sell... which puts Ford nicely in the black... which gives them money to support Mazda and support Mazda going on a limb with a new RX-7. So don't bitch... just don't buy one for yourself and cheer on the masses that are because it benefits us all. :D

I have always been partial to the F-Bodies (camaro and Firebird) but I think the new 'stang is great. The only problem is that I have a feeling that they might become so popular that everyone will have one. They look great now but it wont be anything special when you see on every 2 minutes like the current mustang. In the last week I have seen more 2005 mustangs than I have seen RX-8's in the last few months. Not exaggerating. I'll stick with the 8.

Our parking lot here at work is like a car show..
We have a buttload of vettes 80's 90's and newish ones, an older Viper, a couple M3's about 4 350z's, 3 rx8's , 3 SC430's, a couple WRX's, a 69 camaro, 69 mustang fastback, a buttload of other mustangs, and one 2005 mustang.. I like the over all look but it seems to look bloated.

I squeezed into one the other day. It made my RX-8 seem like a Cadillac on the inside. Felt like the seat was up higher, and I'm fairly certain the dash is further forward than the last generation mustang, which I could baaarely fit into. My knees were literally touching the dashboard. I thought the seat was all the way up but it was all the way back. I thought this was supposed to be a much roomier car than the last model? Maybe someone will make seat track extensions.

All I can say is big fat farkin' steering wheel. I had the chance to check one out at MAES Symposium in Austin, when Ford was looking for recruits. I'm still waiting to see what happens with the Cobra. I'm sure the GT will make a great fit because it's cheap power. Sure, it'll fall apart the next year, but it's still 300 hp.

So many roads to ride...
Unit sales hovering around the 100,000/year range....still I see mustangs on practically every corner. It must've been like a damn stampede on the road in the 60's when Ford was selling 500,000 mustangs/year.

A parking lot about 1/4 a mile away from my work in Woodhaven, Michigan there is over 1500 Mustangs parked all different so I am guessing thet is where all the pre orders are being kept. I cant even get near the gate to take a picture because of security. I have a feeling I am going to see more mustangs than I do snowflakes around here.
I was thinking about buying a mustang, then the fact dawned on me that I would't have anything special after the first year because everyone and there mother will have one. There nice but it's just a phase.
If I can get a picture of that lot, I will try, its really a cool site seeing them all parked and lined up like that....Just think how much better it would be if they were all Rx 8's!

Guys-Ford has a hit? Some of local dealers in So Cal take advantage of demand and are charging 10-15,000 "market adjustment" to bottom line! Talk about depreciation! What fool would pay such a mark-up?
