And your opinion doesn't mean dick, because you've never driven one. Nor seen one in person for that matter.

Since you insist on continuing to talk about these cars. Care to tell us what the hell they have to do with an M5?

I wasn't aware that C&D had access to the Clubsport already.

I just disagree with the entire concept of the M5. Doesn't seem to make sense to me. I either want over the top luxury or I want a sports car. I never want both in one car because one always takes away from enjoying the other.

Actually the M5 is supposed to be quite tame til put into M mode, probably one of the more luxurious cars on the road. If you can't see the beauty in having an incredible luxury car that becomes and incredible performance car at the push of a button then you're beyond hope.

I've driven the current m5,m3 and numerous bmw products. I like bmw a lot but it still is overpriced. I rather get a 750li and pocket 25 g's.

I'm not saying it won't perform.....I just think that I'd at least wait till the m6 debuts before pulling the trigger. M6 will have the 500hp and should be just as luxurious and perform better.

and is a ******* coupe...

This thread would be about a luxury sedan that has amazing performance, stop bringing up cars in a totally different class. What is so hard yo grasp about that?

......and seats 4

Everyone already knows that the m5 is the fastest sedan. But why do we "need" a 500hp sedan. I guess the only other competitor would be the Cadillac cts-v. For half the price I would take the caddy.

Eh, while the twin turbo goodness is enticing, I don't like that car all that much.

irregardless of price, the bently flying spur would be the fastest sedan. the mb 6.5L twin turbo v12 is rated at 604 hp and SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY-EIGHT ft. lbs at 2000-4000 rpm.....sick, esp. if you consider that mb reduced the amount of torque available to save their transmissions....

do we need these cars? hell no.

but hey, i heard that new m5 is supposed to be pretty nice.......

I suppose it might be a little faster in a straight line, but that's about it. We'll have to see about the weight, probably pushing 5000 lbs in that beast. And it's won't have near the shift speed on the M5. It'll be close for sure.

M5 Rocks

anyone remember the E39 M5 ad. The one with the Jet car in the desert, then the dude gets out and checks the camera on the M5 which was filming the jet cars run from right beside it.

Yeah, that was a good ad.

That is all

EDIT:

Found it.

irregardless

adv : regardless; a combination of irrespective and regardless sometimes used humorously

Usage Note: Irregardless is a word that many mistakenly believe to be correct usage in formal style, when in fact it is used chiefly in nonstandard speech or casual writing. Coined in the United States in the early 20th century, it has met with a blizzard of condemnation for being an improper yoking of irrespective and regardless and for the logical absurdity of combining the negative ir- prefix and -less suffix in a single term. Although one might reasonably argue that it is no different from words with redundant affixes like debone and unravel, it has been considered a blunder for decades and will probably continue to be so.
whoops...

Not that my opinion is worth much to BMW, but I actually think they ruined the looks of the new 5 series, and then made things worse by adding the annoying iDrive system to it.

The last gen 5 series was my favorite true sports sedan.

Don't even get me started on the 7 series (with it's truly fugly trunk decklid).

iDrive is so bad, bot MB and AUDI are copying it. The only people that complain are technoligically incompetent, and or inexperienced with the system. I have talked to a couple people with iDrive and they both say after a while it becomes second nature. Of course, they're both fairly young, young enough to have grown up in the digital age anyhow.

I'm not familiar at all with IDrive, but from what I hear, it's pretty freakin' sweet. Is it just like a speaking navigation system that tells you about tire pressure, and all your engine stats and stuff like that?

Well, I must be really old school. My favorite was my old e34 '92 BMW 535i and prefer its looks over my wife's e39 540i. I hated the current new 5 series when it first came out, but it's starting to grow on me.

I actually like the '06 face lifted 7 series quite a bit.
