^yup, that fat cow GT500 coming in at 4K is the reason why the GT500 does not perform better than it does. Honestly, I expect more power from a car with 500HP but again...it's a 4K car. A SS coming in at let's say 3500 pounds only needs 450HP to beat the GT500.

I would like for the camaro to stay long term. That means they need it to be affordable, I'm talking about a 300+HP car that will be able to compete with the Mustang in terms of pricing.

The Camaro is an evolved design, still a Camaro but modern. The Challenger is a just a copy, my 10 year old could have penned it. Camaro wins hands down.
Still, I betcha both will come close to 3800 pounds, so count me out.

The Challenger is a remake. The Camaro is an evolution.
Both are hot, I think it's really cool that muscle cars are truly coming back. Of the two, I prefer the Camaro.

I agree, I "like" the Dodge...but I REALLY LIKE the Camaro concept. I hope they don't mess it up like Ford did with the Mustang concept to production. Don't get me wrong, with the right kit the Mustang can look TOUGH but it still was a disappointment compared to the concept.

In other Holden news, Mooney stated that they are close to finalizing a deal that would have them producing the next generation Pontiac Grand Prix on the Commodore SS-V platform, as well. That announcement may be given at the Chicago Auto Show in February.

I think there is no doubt that the Camaro will have the 400hp LS2 engine. The doubt is whether GM can cheapen everything else about the car to make it available for under $30K.
Doesn't bother me though.....by the time the Challenger and Camaro hit the dealer lots my stang will have a twin turbo set-up pushing 500hp to the wheels at 6-8psi.

Yes my friend, but what if a Camaro owner does the same? They'd be near 600HP.
But, now that you are here buddy....so, this design study/concept (the Italian Mustang) is that the next Mustang or is that just a tease?

I can't stand either one; they both suck. The Challenger looks like a melted, softened version of what some suit thinks a "muscle" car should be; the Camaro doesn't look like a Camaro at all. It looks like Americans trying to design a Japanese muscle car. And what's with the wheels? Did both of them decide to rip off RX8 wheels?

welcome. I've seen it too many times. Either way, the 1st thing to be replaced on any nice car should be the shoes. Imo, it's the most dramatic change for the buck - and adds quite a bit of your "individual print" on it.

As far as the next Mustang goes.....the Italian version being shown all over the net and the LA auto show is just a concept by an Italian designer. That project had nothing to do with Ford's next gen S197. It was a tribute car to the original Mustang that same Italian designer did back in the 60's.
