Victory Red SS2 RS ftw
I'm somehow ignoring the huge sale put up by BHR. I'm not going to do anything else to my RX8 until I drive the new Camaro. If it sucks, I'll leave with having respect for the Camaro and continue upgrading my RX8. If its good however, I'll leave my RX8 as is and sell it in a year or two and go from 235 bhp to 426. Basically I'm going from a base C6 Corvette straight to a ZR1!

The only thing the Camaro needs now is a track package, which will only include shocks, springs and sways, it already has the tires and brakes. With a track package it would dominate, I suspect a factory track package could be had for 2K. You should go on the Mustang forums and read all the posts, they arte hurting over there

Lol. Then do yourself a favor and NEVER wander too close to a track with your 8...cuz if you do...and you run it...you will be screwed...you will never want to leave.

Early reviews on Camaro not so good...steering and handling aren't glowing aspects of the car.
If the Camaro platform is based on the Pontiac G8 (Holden), which it is, this surprises me, as that car has great steering feel and very good handling.

Hey how much would you give for 11 hp in your 8 The HP isn't a big difference but the other performace #'s look better for the Camaro according to C&D tests. The GXP is also a few grand more. I've never taken a look at the G8 but maybe when I test the Camaro I'll also test the G8 GXP.

So I sat in the SS yesterday. Wow.... I understand that Chevy is gunning for a retro look but seriously does the material has to be retrograded with '70s quality? I mean the as listed price of the SS is twice that of the new Mazda3 and yet the Mazda3 owns it in the interior department. Hard cheap plastics everywhere. They feel worse than my home keyboard plastics! I am so let down by this car. Chevy has once again fail me.
I now understand why it has to go fast, so that the driver doesn't have to spend another second in this plastic bucket.
In contrast the Hyundai Genesis Coupe is well executed. It is fast and the interior doesn't make you feel like a car mfg hates you.

This car looks bad ***, if I were a muscle car guy it would top my list. The LS3 is a beautiful thing, it's one hell of an engine.

How did you sit in an SS? Its not even out yet. Hopefully you sat in some prototype for display. Inside Line and Motortrend both agree the Camaro has the better quality interior between it and the Mustang, which they comment on having a HUGE upgrade in quality. I can't see the Camaro having that bad of an interior. Compared to an Audi maybe. The interior is a huge deal to me (the RX8 was the slowest list on my list of cars I wanted but the interior was what clenched the deal), so I hope the Camaro has at least a half decent interior...

Here's the poor quality interior. The hard plastics have this appalling hollow tap... like those cheap plastic Koss speakers. Matched with horrible 70s ergonomics and you have an alarmingly bad interior experience. I guess GM is really aiming at the older folks or people with lower expectations. Apart from that the exterior is A1. Comes with AP Racing brakes too.
Judging a car on plastic. Dude, auto makers are using the same damn plastics these days... it has to do the with quality of the molds they use for mass production (that's the f'ing expensive part) and the design. If you dont the like the design, fine, I get that, but I just cant see this plastic thing. It can't be that bad.
If the Camaro SS' price is not that high, I wouldn't be so disappointed.
