New Engine AND???

Hello-
I have a 2004 RX 8 with 40K on it. My engine just blew up on me last night and the dealership is telling me they are replacing the engine, Intake and catalytic converter. My main concern is the replacement engine. Have they fixed the problem that is making the engines go out or are they just putting the same one in and hoping it does not happen? Does anyone know?
Thanks
Jeff

Use the search, many people have had engine replacements. You'll be getting a remanufactured (rebuilt) engine.

unless your extremely lucky and they give you a new engine from japan(like me)
and most of the time problem is solved, if not, welp, get another 1, I'm on my 3rd engine and 2nd tranny

1st misfired, reman replace
2nd misfired again, new engine from japan(or so they told me)

From my understanding the majority of the engine failures came from a misprogramed ECU flash that did not deliver enough oil to properly lubricate the seals. Any replaced motor should have the corrected flash and not be a problem. Some one please let me know if I am way off here
