That's right. It's a 10 sec run.
I don't mean the time when I meant sexy.
I don't think the word sexy is used to describe numbers anyway.

How about "69"?

Or was that TOO obvious?

With all the engine changes and mods - it's almost like you build a nice race car and then mount an old Evo body on it! Too bad the body looks so squat, square, and wind resistant - what would happen if they took the same internal set up and put something aerodynamic on top? Or is that the joke - like having a VW modified for racing?

Come on it's not that bad. Your almost equating the Evo's aerodynamic properties to a phone booth. It's not an IS350 but also keep in mind that Mistubishi designed the car to generate downforce. She's no stunner but she is functional.

Why are so many people soooooo negative about the EVO and STI? Every car enthusiest should be in love with these cars for what they can do. The RX8 was never meant to compete with these cars so why the hate? It's not like most RX8 owners couldn't have purchased an EVO or STI if they wanted to....they're roughly the same price range. You chose the RX8 for other reasons......so be happy with your decision. I for one love to see really fast EVO's and STI's because I can actually go out an buy one. It's not like some Ferrari or Lambo which I will never be able to afford. STOP THE HATE PEOPLE!

ok....I'm done

The design is not bad at all. I personally like the design, particularly the JDM version of the VII. Also, I had a hard time digging up a drag coefficient for the car, but I suspect it can't be more than 0.35. Besides, appearance can sometimes be deceiving. Last I read (Edmunds), previous gen Camry's (less than 0.3) have lower drag coefficient than the RX-8 (0.31). Perhaps it's the RX-8's fatter tires. The aerodynamic engineering for the EVO is actually quite remarkable and functional, take the vortex generators on the roof for example. It's not much to look at but they are there for a good reason.

My previous post about the "sexy fast" wasn't meant in any way to bash the Evo, but I realized my faux pas when I posted my remark on this particular thread for the benefit of putting down a subjective answer to a diverging subject, for which I must apologize. The reply to the 10 sec run reply was a sincere one (not trying to be witty). Both the terms "sexy" and "fast" are subjective. "Faster" on the other hand is an objective term.

Before leaving this thread, I'd like to add my comment in the spirit of the original thread. That sub 9 second run is quite an accomplishment for a 2 liter 4-banger. Cool!

I would like to retract my "noob" comment. Stick around. You get it!
