new maxima leaked ahead of NY show
im not a fan of these big cars, but suppsoedly like the new altima, this car has shrunk in size from the previous gen. I like the altima sedan better.
the headlights seems to be very similar to the 370Z in the other thread

Definitely looks better than the outgoing model which resembled a whale. In the side profile pic, the wheels look way too small. The interior looks good. It looks like Nissan did a fairly good job of hiding the cars size with the styling. The front doesn't look too bad at this angle but still not sure on the lights:

I have alwasy been a maxima fan. I love the 2002-03 models with the head and tail light s btu the body is lacking. this is almost the reverse. Hood and interior are baddass but the lights got to go and the rear could have really been inproved on. i cant wait to see this in person. the last model i thought was ugle and big but it grew on me. I wonder hwo big this model is in person.

the size is actually smaller, according to previous autoblog articles they shortened the wheel base. they made it a point to make it sportier like back in the first gen, there are very G35 sedanish elements in the design. the interior is lifted right out of the g35 sedan

I think it's sharp (For a Maxima) and believe they'll sell a huge quantity of them. The new Mazda 6 needs to be as sharp as this, even though it's up against the Altima and not Maxima. That's my opinion anyhow.

Looks pretty good, but the back could have used a little more of change from the previous generation. Hopefully they will have an AWD option this time.
...if only they still had a manual

Hate it. Nissan is in trouble if that's what they're bringing to market. Sure the interior is nice, but, wow, I can't remember the last time I saw a car that was so offensively ugly. Terrible. Who the hell approved those stupid headlights? The side profile is so ugly, it makes my stomach turn. How do you design a new car that doesn't look good from any angle? That is ugh-LEE. Phew! Man! UGLY.

I think Nissan really killed off the Maxima market by bloating up the Altima to the size it is at right now.
I dont see the point of having 2 Sedans roughly the same size etc. I really do think sooner or later the Maxima will be axed.
