New Mazda 6 caught naked!!

Euro looks good, though it looks close enough to the current 4-door 3 that my first impression was "That's a 3, not a 6" - so, um, what are they going to do to ensure the 3 stands out? Offer it only as MS3 hatch?
That red thing is an abomination.

The front sucks.
The rear looks ok. The US tail lights need to go.
I think the thing that bothers me the most about the front of the car is that the lines drawn by the grill and the headlights are not parallel like they are in the silver concept. Either that or the bumper between them throws them off.
Lastly that grill does look cheap as all hell.

I totally agree with you dude! I'm not digging any of the upcoming Mazda models lately. The current Mazda 6 design is way better. I'm even talking about the early version of the Mazda 6, where they didn't slightly face lift it, but this new version is really bad looking. Also, I love my 2005 RX-8 look over the 2009 RX-8 look. Plus what were they thinking with that hideous steering wheel for the new RX-8!

heeh here i was hoping i had the first post on these new Brenda Priddy shots. nice going ever.
They need to put the mesh back in the grill like in the euro version and get rid of that body colored bar. im okay with the relocation of the fogs to the outside edge.
im not sure why they felt they had to change the tails for here but i like both versions. where is the High Center Brake Lamp? integrated with the trunk on the Euro. on the US?
Exhuast tips are similar to the CX which i like. they didnt need those horizontal red lamps since this is NOT sold in Europe- unlike the RX-8. and at least we have further confirmation of the 3.7

front end looks a bit off. The problem with super creative designs is that they dont' sell to the masses.
Look at how BORING the camry and accords are. (new accord is HIDEOUS) Yet, those damn things sell like they're going out of style!!!
I think the new 6 will sell very well in the US.

Not making conclusions till all the trims are revealed, but this thing is watered down.
Jewel leaf patterns in headlamps. Gone! Look like cheap Ford headlamps now.
Sporty and aggressive grill. Gone! Now el cheapo.
Foglamps that look like fangs. Gone! Now are disfigured molars pulled to the side.
Center crease on the hood that emphasizes aggressiveness. Gone!
Taillamps look a bit forced into place. They too are considerably cheaper looking due to the cheap plastic chrome trim. Nothing so cheap looking as plastic chrome.

well there is a reason for the center crease to be gone. the front end of the Euro model has no space for the 3.7. it actually cant fit. part of upsizing the NA one was making room for it.. the side crease wont be there on the 4 cylinder models

I like the cx-9 style rear lamps...but that front....I just don't know.

I think it looks pretty good. I was doodling in class yesterday and I was "designing" the new Millennia and it's funny because my drawing looks eerily similar to the new 6... and I've never seen it before haha.
When are they gonna come out with a new luxury boat?

Didn't know if you were kidding, but the miata already has the 8 fenders..
On a personal note, I like the front end on the euro version. The tail lights remind me of the lexus es and the trunk lid to bumper relationship seems a bit more subtle on the european version.

I really really dont like the front end of the US version. The backside however is fantastic. I think if they took the front of the EURO version, and the back of the US version and mixed them together, we'd have a REAL winner on our hands here.
The front of the US version just kills it for me.

I'm more interested in what's going into the car and if AWD will be available. The looks are meh. The original concept one looks much better. Hopefully they put a beefy V6 in there.

Euro Version (Silver one) looks decent. They should have went with that for all markets.
Obviously, Mazda executives are losing their minds. They best get it back soon, or they will suffer badly for it. You don't release ugly car in any market if you want sales. If you got a better looking version of your car, you go with that, if you expect to make money.
