New Miata!!!! Lighter and Slower...WTF!!
#28
Mazda you fail! Why do I say that? They've probably made the most wanted Miata, but they've left the most important part out. WHERE IS THE ROTARY!!???? It's meant to be lightweight, so really please a rotary! I don't care, 12A, 13B whatever (should be a 20B though!). This is probably the last special Miata they will make for the 20th anniversary, why not put a rotary for special occassion!!???? Or even the 16X and use this as a test bed !!!
Anyways, that car is freaking sexy, like every other generation of speedster concepts.

exactly as a few said and most seem to miss- the Europeans dropped int he the 1.8l instead of the 2.0l that is standard here. the 2 would be a kick and the renesis in there would be legendary but as BWOB said so poetically so long ago
"If you cant go fast with 90 hp , 900m wont help you."
Take that light, great chasis and its 1.8l to the Dragon and see if it is slow

"I've dreamed of building a Mazda MX-5 with this kind of radical form for a long time," says Peter Birtwhistle, Mazda Motor Europe's Chief Designer. "Now that weight reduction has become a dominant factor in automotive development, the time is ripe for it. We show how lightweight a car today can be."
Tell that to the people who designed the challenger. I don't even know how it's possible for that car to end up at 4,000+ lbs. No excuse for that.

Whatever they did, I seriously don't know who decided that a 4000+lb muscle car is acceptable. Did the car really have to be that heavy? Of course it's no surprise the company is bankrupt. Around here, all I see on the lots are SRT-8s. Good luck selling those near 45k.

i'll pick one up if they lower it to maybe 10k
