New Nissan SE-R

New Nissan SE-R
I just saw some of the stuff on Nissan USA website about the new Sentra SE-R. I personally think the styling a little "funky" and doesn't look that much different than a normal Sentra, but you get some serious hardware for under $20k. The Spec V gets a 200-horse, 180 ft-lbs of torque 2.5L in-line 4 with a 6-spd manual, 12.6" front Brembo brakes, rally-mounted shifter (kinda like the old Civic Si hatch of a few yrs ago), an instrument located g-meter, trunk-mounted strut tower V-brace, helica limited slip diff, W-rated summer tires, aggressively bolstered bucket seats, and aluminum pedals. All under $20k! Pretty good value, in my book.
Check it out at http://www.nissanusa.com/sentraSER/?....sentra.vlp.p1
There's even a vid of it lapping the 'Ring.

I still can't get over how fugly this thing is. I could get forgive the evo or sti's looks, but this monstrosity doesn't have they same performance to back up its looks. Nissan you fooked up. Why couldn't yall bring this instead? This is the JDM sentra.

I have a 2002. They are notorious for several issues that are really the result of it being a cheap car. Things like the brakes only lasting 30k then requiring rotor and caliper replacement, trunk latch and major rattle issues, speaker issues, difficulty starting, really really bad OEM tires (make the 8's OEM tires look great), and so on.
2002 is the only year that even looked reasonable since it had a completely different front from the sentra.
But yes, if you sink a little bit of $$ into one you can get it down to a 12 second car pretty easily believe it or not.

looks is subjective, ... the nissan and the mazda both look like what they are supposed to look like... performance oriented versions of economy cars

The other thing you guys need to remember that traditionally the SE-R has looked pretty much exactly like the base sentra and has been more of a sleeper.
But yes, that car is uglier than a hairy fat man's butt.

Typical Nissan - the engine seems pretty sweet, but the rest of the car doesn't interest me one bit.
They really need to make a new 240SX and put that engine it, what a wonderful affordable, light, RWD coupe that would make.

We had a guy come in here today with a yellow sentra (one of the older ones) and when asked what his last name was (so we could find his car) he proceeded to yell at me because I should KNOW it...because its the ONLY Nismo sentra in Las Vegas...
...so we brought all 3 "Nismo sentras" that we had in the back up...and he told my boss I was snotty and "thought I was really funny" lol
