First thought: Congrats

Second thought:

I liken it to getting an Auto Rx8; WHY? Oh GOD WHY? THE HORROR GAHHHHH THE HORROR!

Only mustang I would ever get would be the 60's style Shelby

2010 mustang seems nice.
All the reviews I've read praised the handling aspect, although mostly due to the stock pirelli summer tires, but sounds like they did tweak the camber settings as well.

Mustangs are faster than RX-8.
V8 much faster than manual rx-8, V6 much faster than auto rx-8.
Just facts, no need for ricer street racing stories.

2010 Mustang seems well-reviewed. The V6 in the Mustang is inferior to the Camaro V6 though. Also, the V6 Mustang seems to be a rental car staple.

If you were driving a slow AT 8, then a manual V6 probably seems and improvement in speed, but the handling might not.

Safe driving.

I remember going to buy my Chevy cobalt a few years ago. The sales guy was very confused because I didn't seem excited at all. Even when I was about to drive away in it he was like "smile or something, you got a new car". Now I was on my own, my parents weren't with me (at 24 I wouldn't go with my parents anyway)

Well I did afterwards...

I kinda did the same thing with the 8, went it and really showed no emotion at all and just followed those basic steps they always tell you and it worked out wonderfully.

I like the look of the new mustangs, if I had to own a Ford vehicle, this is probably the only one I would own. I wouldn't choose to buy one though just because thats me, but if the person buying the car likes the car then thats all that matters. It will still be fun and better than civic.

yeah the new mustangs are really cool the interior isnt great but a major improvement over the last one plus the exterior is meaner looking and has more curves and it has some wicked rear turn signals!

I have not check specks on v6, but if suspension setup is same as on v8 then car handles very good ...
Accelaration is good, faster then rx8...grate potential with boltons and even more so with boost.

lol thanks for all the comments guys. To one of the questions. I put 0$ down and paying only 400 a month. This car is wayyy faster than my rx8 was. My fault for getting an auto 8 but way faster. 0-60 did in about 6 seconds. my 8 would take 9 or 10 lol handling wise you would not expect a mustang to be good but this things very different. Its really smooth on the turns except if the turns are sharp than the rx8 was better. I think i would keep up with a manual rx8 pretty well. And i would have loved the v8 but I'm not that spoiled. lol when i actually work and make my own money I would go for the v8.

P.S. suspension and everything like that is the same as the GT. just the engine is missing 2 cylinders ;] Got a K&N drop in filter today. Loving the car. But will never replace my first car. the rx8. still miss it =]
interior is preety good too on the 2010. Ice blue lighting. Put foot well LED lights. looks good.
I still give thumbs up to every rx8 i see =] Switching from tuner to muscle feels alot different lol No more high revs. I would go 1st gear to 2nd in my rx8 to 62 mph. 2nd gear to about 80. Now My redlines at 6. but satisfaction of power at all rpms. plus torque is alota fun ;]

I don't know what you're smoking, but an auto V6 Mustang is NOT going to do 0-60 in 6 seconds.

He got a manual, he had an auto rx-8 though.

I definitely agree on the fact that the V6 mustang should not be called a muscle car. But, if you really did go with it to stay out of trouble while still having a bit of fun, then you made a good choice. The 8 was my first car (manual) and I now appreciate the fact that I didn't aim for loads of straight line acceleration. That said, I do find myself wanting more power now and I either plan to turbo the 8 or get something with more acceleration. Enjoy that mustang for a few years and try to stay out of trouble.

Now, for where I am now, I would have gone for the GT as well (if I was getting a mustang... though I'm not too fond of mustangs). The V6 would be fun and all, but as far as I know, it's a bit lacking in aftermarket options when compared to the V8. I'm not sure what kind of potential the V6's have, but I'm guessing it doesn't respond as well as some other 6 cylinder engines would to mods.

It's funny how we are so quick to criticize other cars, but so defensive/offensive when others criticize the 8..............

thats coz the 8 is the sexiest car alive lol more like coz we own one. and the v6 does have the same suspension setup as the v8 but its missing the lsd but the mustang in general has come miles from a few years ago and its a really good car.

nothing against you, ts. but you've picked my least favorite car of all time. I'd take a civic over a mustang. and thats saying something.

now if you bought a cobra, thats a diff story

yeah very cool sequential turn signals like the old stangs and cougars. I imagine insurance would have killed him w/ a V8 if his right foot didnt, nice car hope you enjoy it!

If one can afford the V8 ins, etc. I woulda got a used 05+ GT

Insurance is a picky bitch, I have an 01 Dodge Stratus RT (V6, 2 door coupe, 5spd) and its $200 more a year to insure full coverage than my 8 b/c its a 2door vs. the 8 considered a 4 door (what other sports car saves you ins$ like the 8?) I might understand it if it was a fast car but its just average.

lol thanks to all the good coments. and to the haters. love you guys =] and yes its true. the manual mustang is alot different than the automatic. automatic = rental. stick shift = sports car. that's just in my opinion. To me it was an upgrade going from the auto 8 to this. in all ways. And cmon some of you haters got to relax. Not alot of 17 year olds own thier second car. rx8. then mustang. Got to be grateful of what you got and be happy with it =]

Biggest plus side. ALL girls i talk to are lovinggg it. They dont know difference between gt and v6. all they see is a "muscle" car lol

Yeah no kidding, buy an OEM "GT" decal for the rear and 99% of the people will never know the difference if you don't tell them.

Here I am debating to go the opposite way and de-badge my car so people won't know it's the faster version!
