New Saturn Sky = HOT!!
#5
This is from usatoday.com
"Sky two-seater roadster. The car, equipped with a 140-horsepower, 2.4-liter engine, signals a new design direction for Saturn, Lajdziak says. Other new models will adopt Sky's front end, which includes slanted headlights and a fender that juts out from the front.
The car goes on sale in early 2006 as a 2007 model and should be priced under $25,000. "
It looks a lot nicer than a $25,000 car, but it's still pre production, 140hp seems low, any one know how much the Lotus Elise is going to get?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I had to do on some of my older cars.

That is the Saturn version of the Solstice built on the Kappa small car rwd platform. The car was originially displayed as the replacement for the VX220 a couple of years ago when they called it the Vaxhaul lightening. Expect the same specs as the Solstice, which means 2800lbs and a 2.4l 170hp ecotec when released.
The hot version will be the 2.2l 240hp supercharged ecotec motor that should follow in a year. This is the one expected to cost around $25k. Entry model should fall in around $19k.
It is a nice looking car and I am happy to see GM push for smaller cars.

Let me pre-emtively apologize for hijacking the thread...but if you're in the "$25k and under roadster market" this bad boy would be my choice.
The Dodge Razor is the working title, but apparently there has been some recent litigation filed over the name. Whatever Daimler Chrysler decides to call it, I'm expecting it to have the turbo charged, 230hp (actually more like 265hp) , 2.4L turbo found in the '04 and '05 SRT-4. At less than 3,000lbs, with RWD and an incredible stout and tunable platform...watch out! The Razor would be a terror both on the track, the twisties, the drag strip, the freeway, the gas pump and on your insurance premiums. I imagine this car would also be relatively inexpensive for DC to produce if they used one of the existing Mercedes RWD compact platforms. I pray to baby Jesus himself they make this car. Until now it seems most roadsters (MR2, Miata, etc) are a bit underpowered for traditional "car guy".

But that thing would be a steal at under $25k and be a formidable foe of the S2K maybe even the srt crossfire if you tune it.
