The car goes on sale in early 2006 as a 2007 model and should be priced under $25,000. "
It looks a lot nicer than a $25,000 car, but it's still pre production, 140hp seems low, any one know how much the Lotus Elise is going to get?

I don't care how much power a car has if its ugly, its of no use to me. The RX8 I have now has more than enough poswer to get me around and have my way in traffic when I need ir. I don't need 400 hp.....when I was younger that was more important....the overall package (including looks) is what counts.......that Dodge is no better than the SRT neon....all Hp and nothing else.
.........and if the quality/reliablity of the thing is anything like most other cars from Dodge, it will fall apart in no time.

The Sky looks very nice. But yikes, those are some B-I-G wheels and tires on a small, four cylinder sports car. Why the heck would they do that? Wait, I know why.
Anyway, the specs sound close to some of the speculation on the NC Miata. If the NC comes with a 170 hp 2.3, at 2500 lbs, it'll be quicker than the Sky, assuming it comes in at 2800 lbs (seems likely).
I'll smoke 'em both in my supercharged '94 Miata, though, even though it's not nearly as refined.
And, as has been repeated way too many times, the Elise is fast not because it make big power, but becase it weighs in at under 2,000 lbs.

yes they are subjective....and IMO the car is ugly
...not a mechanic, I just have owned two cars by that manufacturer that were always breaking down and had paint problems.

saturns are awful cars.(period)
the reason it looks like an opel speedster is becuase it probly is, opel is the german counterpart of GM.
usual trends by region:
europeans innovate and go out on limbs w/ the newest designs and ideas creating usuallu excellent cars.
the japanese, except on the rx, usually base ideas off the germans, sticking to them while the germans move on to newer better thing, a good car to have, usually super-refined
americans: trying to copy someone, either germans or japanese, always making something worse and of lower quality...we wonder why toyota was the highest selling brand in the country. everywhere else except the US, domestic cars are the majority, if they exist. many peoplel i know who buy american cars only do so in an attempt to help the american economy.
quote from a friend who works for GM after driving a bmw 740iL: "as soon as i leave GM, im getting one of these, it doesnt even compare"
thats my ideas at least

I don't like the red RX-8 interior either, therefore went w/black cloth.
But overall the Saturn looks pretty nice.

The advantage this car will have over most other roadsters is in the aftermarket and tuning potential. Being American it is going to get quite a bit of support and the motor has already been proven to take over 800hp in drag form. 170hp is just going to be a starting point.
I like it, but why do all these roadsters have to be so heavy? It does not make sense to me that a 2 seat roadster is only 60-100lbs lighter than my 4 door 4 seater. This will be the largest advantage the miata always had and always will, though it is closing in on 2500lbs.

i read an interesting artile in Business Week about this car that said that when showed to focus groups without an badging 80% liked the way it looked. Then when they showed it to focus groups with the saturn badge that number dropped to like 45%. I don't remember the exact numbers but it was pretty amazing. The article also talked about the lack in popoularity of Saturn and how GM is pumping in more money to try to save it.
