have you ever wondered why american car magazines and tv shows are such **** compared to the UK stuff? I do. That was fun to watch. If car and driver television did it, they would be talking about the difference in wheel base and fuel economy the whole time, then taking a sunday drive arouond the track.

They really hated that viper too.

absolute rubish? isn't that a little extreme? I'm not so sure how equal each driver is because the Vette should have done a little better against the Viper on the track.... but whatever, still a good comparison even if it's obvious they hate american made cars

I think both drivers are pretty accomplished. Tiff raced a couple f1 races, and I think Plato raced or races touring cars.

One thing about the british shows is they tend to use a lot of extremes when descibing the cars. They often either slam it or praise it to no end. FYI, Tiff is one hell of a driver so I wouldn't blame him.

Oh makes sense, cultural differences.....

I'm still surprised the Vette got it's *** handed to it like that. What a difference 100HP will do.

I was in the UK last week and I was watching Top Gear there. It's a cool show I wish they had it here. I mean... one of the bits was Jeremy Clarkson comparing the SLK55 AMG (?) vs a Porsche Boxter S (?). All I know for sure was one was a Porsche and the other some AMG modified Benz. How did he compare them? Well... why not hire some snipers with laser tag rifles and have him drive through a course while they shoot at him and see how many times he gets hit with each car?

I test drove the previous Viper. I tend to agree with them. Outside of it's gore making straight line speed it sucks in every other way. It is the modern muscle car. Massive motor but can't turn or stop (though the new one is quite a bit better) worth a damn.

If the cars were run solo on the tracks the vette would have been turning faster laps. The viper got a better launch and the vette never got a passing opportunity. The Vette had to race the viper while the Viper raced the track. If the vette would have gotten around it would have pulled away.

i wish they would've put the C6 Z06 against the viper SRT-10. That would've been a better matchup.
I thought it was funny that he said that it felt like the transmission came out of a truck too, cuz it prolly did :b

Wasn't he the driver that drove the McLaren F1 to the 240mph speed record?
