Nine of the most fun front-wheel drive cars you can buy
#3
I have considered a MINI Cooper(just the normal version with an AT) as my first car, but it was expensive and it would cost a lot to maintain(it's a BMW). Fun to drive, though, and the interior is really nice.
My buddy's GTI is crazy fast. These cars supposedly have very conservative factory tune, but very easy to mod. Tons of aftermarket stuff.

My Mazdaspeed3 GT (one of the nine cars on this list) was fun and quick (quicker in a straight line and top end ,than my NA RX8) , but yes the torque steer was present. With the addition of my Mazdaspeed CAI it had 300hp , and over 300+ ftlbs of torque at the crank. (I know the numbers because Car and Driver magazine did the exact same mods to their Speed 3 GT as I did, and thoroughly tested theirs). It was truly a sleeper on the road, and surprised many. I bought both my RX8 40th Anniversary Edition and my Mazdspeed3GT new in 2008.
Wish I could have kept the Speed3GT too, but after my finances changed, I sold it in 2010. But it was a fun time when I had both, trying to decide which to take out on any given moment, based on what kind of drive I wanted, all brute power and craziness, or smooth and tight handling. The Speed3GT was a three-time Car and Driver 10Best Car Winner, and deservedly so !
