And yours truly was the guy who lobbied for the one item that you'll see listed and IMO is the biggest contributor to how the RX-8's faired well at Daytona 2010. IMO. The reduced weight (given by G-Am) also was a huge contributor.

Rule changes: yes. I could tell you what they were but that would deny everyone the opportunity to learn more about the series and what all the cars run (rules, weights, restrictions, tire size, etc.)

I am guessing its the RPM? I forgot GA limited them to, 8600? 8800? We used to run unlimited.

Ham is being phased out in favor for Bomarito. Sucks except that for Mazda to promote thier tier system they must demonstrate that if you are successful within the system you too can get to the top,,, Thats what Bomarito has done and he did do pretty well during the 24...

I see. I *totally* support the ladder system that mazda has, but I wonder if that's the whole story. Can you state your source? Bomarito seems to do pretty well but I've only seen him run briefly in the 24. Ham is a very strong driver, IMO he was the 'ringer' half of the #70 during the regular season... I'm sure they had hard data if that's the angle they're taking.
Rolex is the top of the ladder, right? How many seats does Mazda offer? Just one in the #70?
I guess I'll get a chance to form my own opinion of Bomarito this year (though my viewership has decreased - not by choice)...

Load in times at Homestead.
I apologize for the delay in sending this information, but my e-mail was down this past week. Below is everything you’ll need;
http://www.homesteadmiamispeedway.co...b-Package.aspx
For the President/head of the car club who brings the most members, they will have to opportunity to wave the green flag for the grand prix of Miami. All cars will receive a dash plaque commemorating the event and will also receive pace laps on the road course between races.
Parking will be in the infield as shown on the map I attached for you (Apologies for its quality). Load in times begin at these times:
9:45 – 10:00 am
10:45 – 11:00 am These three times represent the green line in the map where the cars would enter through the road course and on a flattened grass area which are ideal.
12:00 – 1:00 pm
From 9:45 am – 4:00 pm cars are permitted to show up but will have to travel up a dirt embankment. This is represented with a red line.
It is $20 per person with kids 12 and under are admitted for free. If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to call or e-mail.
Thank you again and hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Alex

I was surprised too. With Mazda going for the Manufactures title so hard this year I thought it would be fitting to go there. Even more so since we won there last year.

I tried to buy my tickets on line for the March 6, 2010 Rolex Grand Am race at Homestead and could not locate the "car club" link and neither could the ticket agent that I called. To get the car club rate of $30.00 + $3.00 processing I recommend you call their ticket office. 866-409-RACE. All tickets will be at will call where you can pickup your tickets and then drive to gate 18. You can park for twenty minutes at the will call area.

Alex called me from the Homestead Speedway asking for a count of how many will be coming to the race this Saturday from the RX-8 Club so he can block spaces to keep the members together.
Please confirm if you are coming and i will relay that information to Alex. I am coming late as I had some other things to do this Saturday before going to the track.
You can still call the ticket office and for $33.00 you get the access to almost everything. You can park for a few minutes at the will call window to pickup your tickets and then drive into the track.
Hope to see some members there.

The No. 68 is the car that Yellow Dragon Racing tested in last year's Roar Before the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The team is building a brand-new Mazda RX-8 to replace it.
