Anyone know what happened to Trembley the final few laps? He went from 1st to 4th pretty quickly. Speed just showed the Segal pass and then switched to DP.
Just at the end of some tires? I know they put scrubbed tires on the 70 when Sylvain took over.
70 is in first overall still in points. Gotta get the overall points along with the manufacturers title to really make this Mazda's year.

Thanks

Thanks alnielsen, I entered it just as you typed it "P Zero" not "P 0" correct.
And thank you very much. I was hoping they would show the banner up close before the end. With it being dark I was looking but no way.
I'm bumming that Grand Am is not coming to Laguna Seca this year.

Grand-Am confirms DTM rule negotiations
http://www.touringcartimes.com/article.php?id=4521
The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters organisers ITR are negotiating with the American sportscar series Grand-Am.
"The DTM approached us to begin discussions regarding out rules and how we operate as a race series," said Grand-AM vice president Dave Spitzer to Autosport.
"We were happy to enter into conversations, recognising the potential for learning and the importance of relationships in racing. Those conversations are still ongoing," said Spitzer.
DTM has earlier confirmed talks with the Japanese Super GT series, talks that have been initiated in order to make it easier for all these series to attract new manufacturers.
Grand-Am organisers are happy about the negotiations and hopes for joint events.
"I think we could have an incredible fight, mixing its cars with our GT500s. We would like to somehow actualise joint events," said Masaaki Bandoh, GTA Boss.
While the DTM is working hard to enforce the new rules already for next year, the Grand-Am organisers suggests 2015 as a more realistic year for the introduction.

Mazdas took five of the top six positions in opening GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 practice Thursday at Barber Motorsports Park, led by Jordan Taylor, who ran a lap of 1:27.327 (94.816 mph) in the No. 30 Racers Edge Motorsports Mazda RX-8 co-driven by Todd Lamb.
"The Racers Edge guys have done a great job during the break between Homestead and Barber, and it made it easy for me right out of the box," Taylor said, "We're quick and it's looking good for the weekend."
Paul Edwards was second fastest in GT, running a lap of 1:27.717 (94.394 mph) in the No. 07 Banner Racing Corvette he shares with motorcycle legend Scott Russell.
The next four fastest were all Mazdas. Rolex 24 At Daytona winner Sylvain Tremblay was third, 1:28.175 (93.904 mph) in the No. 70 SpeedSource Castrol Syntec Mazda RX-8 co-driven by Jonathan Bomarito, followed by Leh Keen, 1:28.614 (93.438 mph) in the No. 41 Dempsey Racing/Team Seattle Mazda RX-8 co-driven by James Gue, Joe Foster, 1:28.727 (93.319 mph) in the No. 40 Dempsey Racing Mazda RX-8 co-driven by Patrick Dempsey, and the No. 68 SpeedSource Mazda RX-8 of John Edwards and Adam Christodoulou, 1:28.956 (93.080 mph).
The No. 57 Stevenson Motorsports Camaro of Robin Liddell and Andrew Davis was seventh, 1:28.975 (93.060), followed by the No. 94 Turner Motorsports BMW M6 of Bill Auberlen and Paul Dalla Lana, 1:28.978 (93.057 mph).
Craig Stanton and John Potter were 10th fastest in the lone Porsche GT3 in the field, running 1:29.392 (92.626 mph) in the No. 44 Magnus Racing entry.
The Grand Prix of Miami-winning No. 69 SpeedSource FXDD Mazda RX-8 of Jeff Segal and Emil Assentato managed only one lap in the session. Segal heard an alarm and came to the pits, and the team elected to change the engine as a precaution. Also to the garage was the Turner Motorsports BMW, with the team working on the rear suspension after the car spun and tapped the guardrail.

Last year there were at least 6 GT3's in the field.

I am not sure if its just me, but it has become less exciting to watch Grand-Am with SO many Mazdas entered and so few Porsches...
Or maybe its just me because I have developed a huge interest for F1 this season!!

A series is always less interesting when there are too many of one type of car. Whether that be a Mazda, Porsche or formally Pontiac. I find DP (NASCAR & Indy Car) uninteresting (other than the speed of the car) because they are basically the same car with a different engine.
Still, it's fun to see the car I drive win on the track (ya, I know it's not the same).

I found myself owning several Porsches, Exotics and Corvettes based on that very reason.
I'm a road race lover long since my childhood, and I still get excited with road racing, period.
