Sebastien Bourdais has admitted it will be difficult for him to find another race seat in formula one.

The 30-year-old Frenchman was ousted by Toro Rosso after last month's German grand prix, but he told the sports daily L'Equipe that he has not yet given up on staying in F1.

"Considering there is no testing, I could be an interesting choice for one of the new teams," said Bourdais, referring to US F1, Campos, Manor, and an unknown thirteenth team for 2010 to replace BMW-Sauber.

He admitted however that the withdrawal of BMW, meaning that Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld are also on the market, is a complication to his chances.

Bourdais said his chances of contesting Le Mans in the future are good. "I am under contract with Peugeot until the end of the year, and they seemed content with my work at Le Mans.

"As for the United States, I always kept up contact with my team," said Bourdais, referring to the Newman-Haas outfit that races in the Indycar series.

He added: "The problem is they need money to run another car. Five million euros is not easy to find at the moment."

If you have fractured vertebrae in the neck you can be damned sure that the pain in the neck will be bigger than the pain to the ego.

It is sad it had to be this way. I looked forward to Hamilton outdriving Schumi as much as any other rabid Hamilton-fan. But he was not in a condition to drive simply.

Bourdais - Toro Rosso fired me by text

Sebastien Bourdais has accused his former employers of lacking "style" by sacking him by text message.

The 30-year-old Frenchman was told his services were no longer required at the Nurburging, and he was replaced thereafter by Spanish teenager Jaime Alguersuari.

"The way they got rid of me was very disappointing," Bourdais, who recently reached an out-of-court settlement with the Red Bull-owned Toro Rosso team, told the French magazine Autohebdo.

"Dietrich Mateschitz was at the Nurburgring but he did not speak with me. He did not call me. Everything was done by SMS, which to me has no style," he charged.

Bourdais, however, admits some blame for his failure to shine in two and a half seasons at Toro Rosso, whose team until 2009 received the basic chassis designed by its parent Red Bull.

He said the car was not built "around a driver", but rather it was the drivers' responsibility to adapt "to the car. That was never my best strength," Bourdais admitted.

Montreal mayor says tentative 2010 F1 deal done

The mayor of Montreal on Thursday confirmed that a final agreement to bring Formula One back to the Canadian city is nigh.

The French language newspaper La Presse earlier reported that minor details and funding are now the only obstacles to reviving the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve event ahead of the 2010 season, after it was conspicuously absent from this season's schedule.

Responding to the reports, mayor Gerald Tremblay told Canadian media that a tentative deal with Bernie Ecclestone, who also hinted at the arrangement in recent interviews, has been reached.

The reports said a date for the race has not been set, but a provisional 2010 calendar is expected to be published within weeks.

Kimi on the outer at Ferrari?
According to reports in the British press, the Ferrari Formula One team are looking to replace former champion, Kimi Raikkonen at the end of the current season.

While the Finn still has a year to run on his current contract, the Sun reports that the Maranello based squad have offered him half the amount he would have earned in order to leave a year earlier than originally planned.

If Raikkonen agrees to the deal, which is said to be worth twenty five million pounds, then the theory is that Fernando Alonso would make his move to the partner Felipe Massa in the red cars for 2010.

Earlier reports indicated that Robert Kubica, now without a drive for 2010 due to BMW’s decision to leave the sport, was on his way to Ferrari, however it now appears as of the Pole would take up residence at Renault instead.

I think Nico Rosberg will be driving for Mclaren, but taht is just my prediction.

Mercedes will want either Rosberg or Vettel in McLaren next year. And I don't think Red Bull will release Vettel.

I think Nakajima will be there next year. He has done some really nice practices and is on a form up-slope now. I don't know where Kovaleinen will be but I think he will stay too somewhere.

Massa back in Italy?

According to reports in Italy's Corriere dello Sport, Felipe Massa may return to the Formula 1 cockpit at the Italian GP at Monza, if his recuperation goes well. This would be seven weeks after the accident in Budapest. The principal delay in Massa's recovery is unlikely to be the injury to the front of his head, nor the concussion, but rather a secondary fracture he suffered at the base of his skull. There has not been much information about this but our sources tell us that it was a hairline fracture. This needs to be fully healed before he will be allowed to risk racing in F1 again as another accident could be very serious indeed. That may not be very likely but the FIA doctors will always err on the side of caution.

Massa's progress is, by all accounts, impressive. He is keeping fit and hoping to be able to go to Paris early in September for a medical examination to see if he will be allowed to race.

lol, m ore like a dumb **** that reminds me, i was watchign the discovery HD about Ducati's, and about ferrari's. both where pretty cool episodes. also liked the ferrari 599 shop, looks sweet.

but yah this break is taking to long lol. its hard enough waiting for the session to start up, after the last race. going thru f1 withdrawls is probably the hardest thing in this world to over come. you run around the city yelling for days, not sure why. you cant seem to grasp reality etc.

I know no sporting series that intentionally says: "I want 5 weeks with no sponsorship income or media coverage so everyone forgets about us in the middle of the season."

Renault allowed to race at Valencia

The FIA Court of Appeal have allowed the appeal filed by Renault after the stewards at the Hungarian Grand Prix had imposed a one-race ban on the team. They claimed the team released Alonso, knowing that a wheel was not fastened securely.

On 26 July 2009, the Stewards of the Meeting suspended the competitor ING Renault F1 Team from the next event in the 2009 Formula One World Championship (namely, the Grand Prix of Europe to be held in Valencia) for the following reasons:

- Renault knowingly released car N°7 (driver Fernando Alonso) from the pit stop position without one of the retaining devices for the wheel-nuts being securely in position;
- Being aware of this, Renault failed to take any action to prevent the car from leaving the pit-lane;
- Renault failed to inform the driver of this problem or to advise him to take appropriate action given the circumstances;
- This resulted in a car part detaching at turn 5 and the wheel itself detaching at turn 9.
The FFSA appealed the Stewards’ decision on behalf of Renault.

Decision
Renault admitted to the Court that it breached the Sporting Regulations, in that it failed to ensure that car no. 7 complied with the conditions for safety throughout practice and the race, and that it released the car after a pit stop when it was unsafe to do so. However, it requested the Court to reconsider the severity of the sanction imposed by the Stewards.

Having heard the arguments of the parties, the Court has decided as follows:

1. to allow the appeal and overturn the sanction imposed by the Stewards in the Contested Decision;
2. to issue a reprimand and impose a fine of $50,000 upon Renault.

The FIA also stated that the reasons for this decision will be published in a full judgment in the coming days.
