i see, well apparently Badeor can drive monza with his eyes closed. so ferrari decided that they are going to blind fold him for the monza race.

http://www.worldcarfans.com/10908312...-on-fisichella

An official of the Force India team on Monday said the team expects Ferrari to make an imminent move to sign Giancarlo Fisichella for the Italian grand prix and beyond.

The team's Italian driver Fisichella, 36, and his manager Enrico Zanarini denied at Spa last weekend that Ferrari is already interested in him as a substitute for the struggling Luca Badoer.

But Force India commercial director Ian Phillips told British radio Five Live on Monday morning: "We do expect a move will probably be made in the next 24 hours or so.

"Nobody's asked us yet but I think it's pretty likely that somebody will make a phone call to (team boss) Vijay Mallya over the next 24 hours or so asking if we would release him to Ferrari," he added.

It has been suggested that the move would involve minimally a transfer fee, or the subsidy of reported debts dating back to Force India's Ferrari engine deal that ended prematurely last year.

"I don't think they (Force India) have really got any options (except to release Fisichella)," Phillips added.

Badoer, however, is pleading for one more chance, arguing that he could drive Monza with his "eyes closed".

"If they're going to replace me it should be after Monza," the Italian is quoted as saying on Monday by the German news agency SID.

"If I would disappoint them (Ferrari) at Monza, I would be the first to say I should step aside," Badoer added.

I agree that he could drive there with his eyes closed but 3 races without points is a big risk.
Didn't he also say that he was very good in Spa? 2 secs off pace...

Ferrari not expecting Massa return in '09

By Jonathan Noble Tuesday, September 1st 2009, 10:15 GMT

Felipe MassaFerrari does not expect Felipe Massa to return to the Formula 1 cockpit until the start of the 2010 season following the results of his medical examination in Miami on Monday.

The Brazilian visited the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit of the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami for a thorough examination by respected doctor Steve Olvey to asses his chances of recovery.

The prognosis was good, but the team said in a statement that with plastic surgery on Massa's skull due to be undertaken in the next few days, the team was not betting on Massa being ready to race in 2009.

"Obviously, the results of examination has been warmly welcomed in Maranello, in the sense that the team can count on Felipe 100% for the start of next season," said a Ferrari statement.

Massa is expected to have a small plate inserted into his skull at the area where it was damaged by the spring that hit his face during his qualifying crash for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Once that operation has taken place and Massa is fully recovered, he will then be able to resume physical training - having been forced to rest since his July accident.

"I'm very happy with the outcome of the tests," said Massa. "After the small operation I'll undergo in the next few days, I'll finally be able to start doing gym exercise to get back in shape a bit and, after that, I'll be able to start doing some testing on karts.

"On track with an F1 car? Let's go one step at a time: now I'm focused only on starting over with physical activity, which is already a nice step forward."

Ferrari is expected to decide in the next 48 hours who will drive its second car for the remainder of the season, with Luca Badoer having struggled for pace in the two races he has taken part in so far.

Giancarlo Fisichella has emerged as favourite to join the team, but Italian media on Tuesday suggested that Robert Kubica was also a serious possibility.

FIA investigates claims

The FIA has confirmed that there is an investigation under way regarding, what the spokesperson called "alleged incidents at a previous FIA Formula 1 World Championship event".

The confirmation comes following reports on Brazilian TV that Renault driver Nelson Piquet was ordered to crash by the Renault team to enable his team-mate Fernando Alonso to take advantage of an early pit stop in order to win a surprising victory.

Hey Polo

How are you holding up there? Ferrari consider keeping Badoer for one more race at Monza. I was wondering if you are having any ill effect of seeing the red car driven so poorly.

And while Massa is gone to have Alonso having one of the unluckiest seasons of his life (I am of course referring to his recent pit stops)

So just as you know Polo, if you feel a need to cry, both Alfy and I will offer shoulders

PS. Totally agreed about Piquet.

Thanks bud. Tell me about it... I remember going to Monza back in 1998 for the 600th F1 GP of Ferrari where Schumacher-Irvine took 1-2. What DAY!!! I still have a piece of the race track asphalt in my living room That is how much I love Ferrari

Unless Domenicalli wants the tifosy to riot the entire place, he needs to remove Badoer from the seat. Fisi is better suited and italian as well and I bet they sell even more tickets... Right now it's not even half of tickets sold...while in the past most of them were already sold out.

Alonso is ....well Alonso... Can't wait to have him in Ferrari. The combination Massa-Alonso will be lethal.

The only thing that will salvage this season is to have Barrichello win the championship. He deserves it. He has always been quick at Monza but so has Alonso. I won't be surprised if the "underdogs" are fast at Monza like they were at Spa, mainly due to less downforce on their designs.

Glad to see everyone is cheering for their guys... This season is definitely for the books!

And yes, Piquet Jr is a freaking moron... with a "I am better than you attitude" just like his dad... EGO bigger than their heads and plain obnoxius... I still remember Piquet Sr one time at Laguna Seca driving the F1-Mclaren thinking he was GOD!... Heck he made us move away from his tent while waiting for an autograph... what *****!!

so my question is, did any of you for a brief second thought it was a set up?, because i know i did.

also when piquet crashed the annoucers at speed channel couldnt find a reason what would make him crash

http://www.worldcarfans.com/10909012...-monza--report

With Force India wanting to hang on to Giancarlo Fisichella, the latest driver in "pole position" for Luca Badoer's temporary Ferrari race seat is Robert Kubica, according to Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday.

The Polish driver, 24, is reportedly keen on the drive in the wake of his current employer BMW's decision to pull out of formula one at the end of the season.

It had been thought that Ferrari might simply persevere with the struggling Badoer if Felipe Massa's return to car number 3 was nigh, but on Tuesday it emerged that the Brazilian is not likely to be fit enough until the start of the 2010 season.

However, the highly rated Kubica moving to Ferrari would leave the Italian team with an embarrassment of riches, given that Massa and Kimi Raikkonen are already under contract for next year, as according to strong speculation is the Spaniard Fernando Alonso.

In response to the La Gazzetta report, BMW team boss Mario Theissen told the German news agency SID: "That's all just speculation. There's nothing to it."

yeah addiction is in your future.

but yeah the silly season is in full swing. Ferrari is the lynch pin to all this crap. I hope they dont grap kubica tho. Hes good but way over rated. However im still unsure of how next year will go. Kimi is doing good right now cuz im guessing hes driving for his job. Alonso is almost for sure gonna be in red also and massa has been doing better then kimi for a while. on top of that there is still ferraris wild coments about a 3rd schumacher car and rumor has it that hes still training. i have no idea what they are actually gonna do

There is too much speculation in the European press being reported as news in regards to Ferrari. I'm just going to sit back, wait, try to not get involved and see what happens.

Whoever said Kubica is overrated has obviously never watched him drive. He many be goofy looking, but he knows how to wheel an F1 car.
